    yeah but I'm sure they wouldn't have believed me and even if I had the seat I'd get the suspicion looks from everyone around next time I'll take the train I'll have hospital papers to prove it, it will be on my surgery trip anyway

    when I had to go to hospital for my last pre-surgery check (for my hernia) I had to take the train and in my current state it became even hard to be standing up. but I don't look old enough to be given a priority seat :'( @Manami TMK people never even imagine you have a back story

    never been to any Michelin star restaurant and never been tempted to go a home is the best place for me to enjoy food, when I eat outside it's either to just stop being hungry or to take out someone who wants to eat outside. also I don't think any 40 000 yen steak would taste 40 times better...

    when I went to pay my residence tax last year they told me I don't have to because I was out of Japan from september to January 2nd. my residence card was still ongoing. the OP won't even be in Japan when the tax will be coming, he can even interupt his juminhyo before leaving.

    thanks mate, I'd take a private room too as I work by night due to timezone difference and that would be annoying for roommates I guess. They gave me Tramcet to take 3 times a day but after reading that I shouldn't stop it without the doctor's advice I decided not to take it on a regular basis...

    There are good and bad point outside Japan so overall it compensate when I go back home. But the thing I have most hard time re-adapting to is driving.
