    I'd say if you are going to go to a bar alone, then go to one on the ground floor, with windows that give a view of the road (or even better an outside area). People watching while in a bar alone is great fun. Personally I like Akasaka.

    Any oyster bars (Izakaya style preferred) in Tokyo that's reasonably priced?

    There's oyster bars all over the place. One I like is in Atre near Shinagawa station. They do this all you can drink champagne for 1000yen in off peak hours. Costs about 10,000 for 2. I consider reasonable . Discount oyster bars are not the best places to save cash.

    I usually stay in Shinagawa as there's no hawkers etc there. I've been heading over to Atre there a few times. Thee is a big hall with about 6 bars / restaurants there. All are good value for money and gave a good vibe.
