Based on similar polls on multiple boards in the US, a large majority of American mongers are married. Arguably being married is exactly why many mongers see escorts in the first place...a VERY safe way to "cheat" compared to the alternatives.

Many Japanese spouses don't see fuzoku services as cheating as all, as the connection is not emotional, and would be more disturbed by their husband having a cozy coffee with a female coworker than a session at a soapland.

Indeed so, and while rarely quite that extreme, many Western women see infidelity with a sex worker as a MUCH less serious problem/issue than romantic involvement with a another "civilian" woman...which totally makes sense, of course.

But even aside from the seriousness of the "offense", the chances of getting found out at all are MUCH smaller with a sex worker for multiple reasons.

Talking from personal experience only.

Pretty much every single one of my previous romantic engagements would rip your heart, while you are still alive, and eat it raw still beating in front of you while you draw last breath (so, I hope everyone seen the Temple of Doom, right?) and then bathe in your blood like if they would be attending a witches sabbath on a warm night during an eclispe, when venus is positioned... You get the idea.

Should they caught you cheating with anything that they see as immediate threat to the relationship by their standards.

My experience with European women in this case.

Having said that, when they cheat and you find out, well... That's a different kettle of fish altogether.

(Edit) Note: I have never cheated, but been cheated on once.
