Anyone Have Any Restaurant Recommendations For A Nice Birthday Dinner?

Hi, I'll be in Tokyo for my b-day and I'm planning to meet a friend for a double b-day dinner since we share the same b-day. Anyone have any recommendations for a restaurant, preferably one with awesome drinks as well.

Budget isn't that important, but food and drinks being good is. Maybe not Michelin three star budget though.
I'm not a big fan of traditional Japanese cuisine, but if it's through the roof good I'll consider it.
Varied menu would be a plus.

I was considering Trader Vic's because I really like tiki style drinks, but the food does seem like it could be kinda meh.

Peter (restaurant on the top floor of the Peninsula Hotel) is a good choice for a special occasion imo. Restaurant and bar are both top notch (well, not quite "top" but excellent), and the view adds to the posh atmosphere.

I checked it out and it does look great. I'm a bit worried about dressing for the occasion though.
Will they let me in with a nice shirt and pants or do I need a full suit?

I know a real nice Mexican Restaurant in Roppongi. Real good meats Filet is realll good
