On Thursday I'm meeting a couple friends from Sweden, their hotel is located in Asakusa and we plan to drink around that area. My first pick was the Hub in Asakusa, however I would like to ask if anyone has any recommended bars where we could talk and drink.
Also all praise Sweden! My best friend in Japan is Swedish and I must say, they are the nicest people I've ever meet in my whole life. If you ever meet a Swedish, make sure to Helan Går with them!

Warning: Excessive drinking with Swedish people might lead to heart failure and alcohol poison, death is common while drinking with the Swedish and none Vikings will not be able to go to Valhalla.

what exactly do you need?
how many people are you?

most bars i know are small and dont fit too many people and/or are not foreigner friendly... so be a little more specific and im sure i can help somehow...

last weeks friday i have been to

http://www.craftbeermarket.jp/store_koenji.html

and to

http://koenjibeer.seesaa.net/

the last one was more or less quiet and not too good for groups maybe (in case you might be loud)...

edit: just noticed youre looking for asakusa... not too familiar with asakusa, but the area around the shrine has a few places...

http://www.amusemuseum.com/english/ (the bars owner is a friend of mine)

those are the only ones i can think of now...

the hub in ueno has been the only one that was ever halfway good for me,ages ago on a weekday...but maybe its still okay and not too far from asakusa...

It's me and 4 other Swedish, I can speak fluent Japanese so language shouldn't be a problem, we just want to enjoy alcohol and chat, no nampa or anything. Also Swedish people tend to get loud when drinking, so places where we can be loud would be great!

i just edited...
yeah the prob is not your fluent japanese, but more that its more or less invitation/introduction only and even worse: the places got 5 seats, so they wont let you in, because its "reserved" for regulars and aquaintances... thats usually how it is...

not really... im not familiar with the asakusa bar scene... when i was still travelling here i used to stay in asakusa, because a friend owns a ryokan there... but ive mainly been to an izakaya around the corner (been there in may again and had to convince the owner that ive been there before, because he didnt want me to enter^^)...
the only thing i know about homeground is that its owned by some hippies (im sure i remember that right) and they got changing events, so dont be surprised and there is a bbq party going on when you enter, or everybody is singing Japanese 60s songs (or nothing at all)...
