Alright,

Feel free to laugh, undoubtedly I deserve a bit, right?

So, I'm a regular remover of my pubes and have had issues with ingrown hairs, mostly near the base of my cock where my cock is usually flopped forward while flaccid. In most cases, the hair pops out after a few days and it can be pulled out or cut. It sometimes is accompanied by a bit of pus as there may be a bit of infected tissue caused by the inflammation. A few times over the years, this has resulted in some mild scarring of the skin tissue.

However now, I think I've got a massive ingrown hair which has no signs of popping out any time soon. Allow me to describe in a bit further detail.

Directly in the area where all previous ingrown cock-hairs have occurred, I got a raised, inflamed area for a week or so which had all appearances to be another ingrown hair. I would squeeze it and some pus would come out but no hair. After almost a month now, I can still squeeze out small amounts of what looks like black-head pimple pus daily (despite inflammation and pain subsiding) but I can still feel a larger issue below the surface.

Now when I touch the base of my cock, I can feel an entire substructure, like a hardened construct floating beneath the surface of the skin at the base of my cock. It's long and seems to be attached to where I previously has an ingrown hair. There is NO inflammation or swelling now.

I know it isn't STI related and isn't the most serious of issues as I have no problem masturbating or having sex. There is no apparent outside evidence and certainly no odor present. I'm pretty sure it is just a deep-rooted ingrown hair.

Does anyone have advice on how to remove such hairs?

Let's forget it's lunch-time in Europe and dinner-time in Japan :dead:

In a random order, what I would try :
1. See a profesionnal
2. Sterilize the area when you trim
3. Go Laser

See a dermatologist. Above all else, if it's migrated, it should be biopsied - the risk of it being a cancerous mass is low, but too important to dismiss, given the region.

Otherwise, the usual course of action is antibiotics, or possibly lancing and surgical removal under a local anesthetic.

It will most probably come back up as another cyst type lump if it's under your skin without a head at the moment. Try using a really hot flannel on the lump each day to see if you can open the pores enough to enable you to bring it to a head, but if it's causing you worry or discomfort then I'd follow the advice of going to see a specialist.

Maybe adjust your shaving routine a little if you are experiencing this a lot, and trim short instead of shaving.

I have been here too. While the doctor is nice, she seemed very keen to try to sell me things that I didn't need.

Things? procedures? ointments? cosmetics? Disappointing because she sounded promising. I noticed she also does STI/HIV testing --- never associated that with dermos - but I guess it makes sense.

My GP is a JPN doctor and she prescribes ridiculous amounts of drugs .... if you visit her with bronchitis and she spots a rash or mosquito bite you get an extra three creams/ointments. There must be some scam involved here. Delays at the pharmacy are a result of the chemist putting together 9 prescribed items for each customer with a cold!

Alright, I should mention that I am NOT a shaver. I pluck. So, if anyone has direct experience with plucked hairs becoming ingrown as opposed to shaved, that would be great.

Thanks to all above, I've 'liked' all the comments that directly relate to my initial inquest.

At the moment, there is no discomfort with the possible ingrown hair in question. I squeeze the area it seems 'attached to' every day and a small amount of pus (semi-solid, much like a black head pimple) comes out of the pore where the hair should be. I've tried 'digging' with tweezers but the pore in question is not open enough to get particularly deep. I hesitate to do anything more invasive as sterility of tools may cause more harm than good.

I most definitely will consult a dermatologist if the situation doesn't resolve itself in the near future.

Thanks to everyone!

If there is any other advice, especially with regards to pluck vs shave, please feel free to post more. Also if you have any 'hair' issues of your own.

Cheers!

Also, if anyone knows any better tools than tweezers for digging out ingrown hairs, pass along the info. Thanks!

If you need something more than tweezers, you really should go to a doctor. :)

Good point (no pun intended!)

I've heard that some girls back home who shave their legs have a special needle they use to deal with stubborn ingrown hairs. I was subtly trying to get someone to let me know what they are called in Japanese ;)

Nine?! But there is no cure for the cold. Most over the counter medicines are little more than caffeine and paracetamol.
They tend to give you antibiotics in japan even if you come in with a cold.
Nope.
But everyone keeps telling me "you should go see a doctor" here when i'm just a little down the weather.

Pulling or waxing tend to be worse than shaving for grown in hairs as far as i have heard, but shaved hair can come back hard and itchy. I'd recomment to do laser.

Totally agree that plucking leads to more issues. I keep a close crop above my junk but the area on and around my nutsack is just so much smoother with a pluck.

I'm definitely open to laser treatment in the future. It doesn't however help my current problem

I would definitely get it checked out by a professional: I know of at least two people who had this around their arsehole, left it till they just couldn't ignore it any longer, and had to have quite a serious operation to remove the problem. The recovery seemed to basically involve having an open, pus-weeping wound for several weeks after.

Good luck!

Appetizing! Thanks!

I get my intimate hair removed by wax and they always advice you to use a peeling every two days to prevent your skin from ingrown hairs. I used to get a lot of those when I was shaving. They completely disappeared when I switched to waxing and peeling as adviced.
