Are there many located around Tokyo? Do most hotels have computers for public use?

what is the going rate per hour?

No public computers at hotels really but Internet cafes and ones for you to use the Internet and watch porn all around the place. Some are quite good with all you can drink (non alcohol) provided.

Standard rate seem to be 100 yen an hour. Minimum 200 yen.

They have 'packs' like overnight for 1500 yen.

You can often pick up tissues at stations from guys with discount coupons.

Haven't been to one for years. But there seems to be various adult oriented activities taking place in the private booths...., Ocassionally females are involved....,

I can find girls in these places for hire? I just need to check my e mails.

Then i would just have them in my room.

Err...
Well it's not exactly what you are thinking. Basically when you get a night pack at one of these places they just give you a cubicle booth with a computer and a chair that can also transform into a couch. It's not uncommon for people who miss their last train to stay the night in one of these.

This by no means an ideal place to bring a girl haha. But some fairly adventurous couples have been known to engage in sexual activities in these small booths undetected.

I need the cafe to do my daily updates. we will have a room in a hotel since we will be there two weeks.

By updates you mean using a computer right? Why not just bring your laptop and use WiFi out of the hotel? The computers in the Internet cafes here are really shit and not setup like the ones in other countries.

Its a pain to carry a laptop.

I try to keep an ongoing trip report going.

Time to get a tablet! hahahaha I have to say i actually use my ipad quite a bit and found it a decent replacement to my laptop. I also have a remote connection set up so if i need a computer i can usually just remote into it from where i'm connected.

There is also lots of free wifi for foreigners When you stop in Narita look for the free wifi (info: http://flets.com/freewifi/spot.html) this lets you onto all the flets spots. Then stop by a Yodobashi I saw they were giving away 2weeks wi2 connections. and last register for this: http://starbucks.wi2.co.jp/pc/index_en.html or you cant get onto starbucks' free wifi here.bewteen all 3 of theses you'll have free wifi everywhere (pretty much) You can also try to get the login for 7-eleven (free) and that will get you denny's, 7-11, sogo, seibu wifispots.

EDIT: forgot to mention you'll need your passport for most of these and more info: http://www.nippon.com/en/features/h10011/ also I believe anywhere there is Docomo Wifi there is usually Flets since they are both run by NTT, so if you go the prepaid route just some more Info.

I find internet cafes to be pretty hit and miss in Tokyo just because so many of them in the major hubs are used as crash pads (and worse) and reek of cigarette smoke and BO (and worse). I'd rather carry around a notebook computer any day . . .
