This is my first review so read it lightheartedly and might not have a cohesive flow. Also, I'm writing this with the intention of it being more informative/educational about the general scene in Shanghai/China, as China is way, way less tourist/foreigner friendly than Japan in every way possible.
There are various services in Shanghai: massage shops, barbershops, karaoke/KTV, "apartment" girls (incall escorts), bars like Judy's, and sites like nightlife. The latter two options are the easiest, but mostly consisted of girls that are older and/or from other countries like Vietnam. As I was in China, I wanted to fuck local Chinese girls. I have heard karaoke/KTV has great selection of young and pretty girls, but is not the best option for a party of one person. All this led to me going with the apartment girls.
Disclaimer
I am part Chinese (so my look can pass as a Chinese person) and can speak enough Chinese for the process of booking an appointment. Both the look and the language skill can affect your ability to meet certain girls, explained more below.
Finding these apartment girls
Unlike Japanese, there are no sites like city heaven in mainland China, or at least with the research I have done. Everything is done through Telegram (tg for short now). There are tg groups where girls can advertise themselves, or more established groups with certain number of girls where others can leave reviews on. One method of finding these groups is for you to arrive in Shanghai and use the 'Find People Nearby' feature in tg. Tg is blocked by the Great Firewall of China, so you will only find accounts related to one of the services mentioned above. Once you are in one of these groups, it becomes a lot easier to find other groups, as other groups will also be advertised or you can see what other groups other people are in (and just jump from group to group this way).
Depending on the group, you can directly view the girls' profile and direct message them, or the group account will make introduction posts for girls within that group. For the latter case, people post comments onto these intro posts of their reviews. If you have found a girl of your liking, you should view her profile, as many of them will have a link to their own tg group chat, where they make availability announcements and cross post reviews from other groups.
Booking a girl
Once you have looked through the girl's pictures/videos and reviews, and decieded you want to give her a shot, all you have to do is send a message directly to the girl. As mentioned in the disclaimer, ymmv depending on who you are and your level of Chinese. If you do not look like an East Asian person, you should first mention that you are a gaijin and see if the girl is okay with that (good news that there is no gaijin tax). If you are East Asian but speak no Chinese, you should also mention that you are also gaijin as well, but you can probably specify what country. I also did this (as my Chinese is not good enough to understand Chinese porn lol). Some girls will just say that she is okay with foreingers, but most will ask you if you are big or not in terms of physical size and/or ask if you Chinese is decent enoguh to do basic communication. Once you get through this introductory part, she will send you her location (most times a screenshot of their location on baidu map, so you have to know how to search the place yourself from an image) and ask for appointment time and type. When it comes to the type of service, the two main ones are p and pp, which is just one or two shots.
Once you give her all the information, you just show up to the location she has sent you previously, which would be a apartment building. You message the girl that you are at the building, then she will tell you which floor and apartment number. Sometimes after this, the girl might ask you to not knock or to ring the bell, rather message her again to open the door. You should follow these instructions, otherwise if a neighbor sees you and deduces that you are there for an escort service, they might call the police. The last thing you want is to have the CCP monitor you more, or even worse, make you disappear or something.
A note about a girl's introduction post. This post will include pictures and videos of the girl with varying amount of panemaji. Most common things done is to make the eyes bigger and the head smaller and the skin whiter. From my experience, they don't touch on the body shape too much (maybe make the tits look bigger). You can also look at the reviews, most will say something about how closely the picture resembles the actual girl (but take this with a grain of salt as I've found out that Chinese dudes will say the picture and the girl are the same person and matches well even with panemaji if you squint your eyes and compare the two and that they have like a 50% resemblence). Just be willing to roll the dice on the face. If you are like me and prefer slim, slender girls with nice kubire and cute butt, the body will make up for the face.
Some girls also require a prior deposit to make an appointment. It's up to you whether you want to do this or not, but most hot girls had a deposit. But the deposit is most times 100 rmb (~2000 yen). The thing about the deposit is that you would have to use either weixin/wechat or zhifubao/alipay to send the deposit. The tricky part is that in order for you to be able to transfer money like this, you need to already have money in your wallet balance or have a bank account from a Chinese bank. As a non-chinese tourist, you cannot get a chinese bank account. So your only option is that you somehow already have money, or find someone to give cash to in return for that amount into your digital wallet. Another option is to tell the girl that you are a foreigner and cannot transfer money this way. Depending on how available the girl is, she might just waive it (happened to me every time except one). The actual payment can be done in cash.
The service
The different services that are included for the price is included in the girl's intro post. Most of these would be in Chinese slang so transalting will not be too helpful. But this isn't too big of an issue as the bigger issue is that many girls would not provide some of the services that are listed in the post (not too sure if the reason is that the Chinese girl compared to Japanese one is a bit more shy and passive, or that I am a foreigner, or that it's a fake ad). The main ones listed but not provided for me were showering together (鸳鸯浴) and kissing. You might find out that not kissing might be for the better as a good number of girls had that typical Chinese bad breath, which I think is from years of drinking tea. Not too sure on these, but others might be fingering her pussy and playing too much with the nipples. I didn't see these listed as services so assumed they would be part of base play. Just use commen sense.
Before the actual fucking, you will just shower by yourself, given a disposable, paper-like towel to dry yourself. After this, the girl will give BBBJ. Most of these apartment girls are very amatuer compared to girls in Japan, so don't expect much from the bj itself. After that, the typical route is cowgirl, missionary, then doggy. Once the act is over, some girls would wash with you this time. I can write more detailed reviews of specific girls that I thought were memorable sex experience. But most girls' services would be mediocre (but the bodies are great) and worth the try.

You also need to do more research in general for your stay in China, as everything in China is either done thriough wechat or alipay, setting these up for the first time can be a pain in the ass.
