So I went to this clinic http://www.ryodental.com around 3 months ago to get the professional tooth cleaning and a check up. I don't recommend anybody going to this clinic and I should've trusted the bad reviews before I went there.
He wanted to re do a root canal treatment because I had a white spot showing on the x-Ray (I could convince him to give me antibiotics for this...)
But the worst is that he ruined parts of my tooth enamel because he scratched through my whole teeth while cleaning and not using the professional instruments. Also: cleaning is covered by national health insurance and he charged me the whole price saying it's not covered.

I went to another dentist today who seems a lot more professional and pointed on everything the previous guy did wrong on me, although my teeth is now so sensitive that I need a few follow ups.

Just a little warning for people here searching for an English speaking dentist. While his English is really good, his ability is beyond what I experienced so far. Save your teeth and money.

Thanks Anna - finding a good dentist with English support is difficult. I used to use a dentist out west of Shibuya but she closed her practice. There's a decent clinic in Ginza with English support, will post the link later.

Otherwise, for routine cleaning I've just been using a local office in my neighborhood but Japanese language only.

I had two wisdom teeth removed in Japan and that went smoothly luckily. I need more work done, mostly cosmetic, which I think I will ask the Ginza office to do when I can make the time for it.

Here's the one in Ginza I referred to earlier:

They take Japanese insurance and credit cards for non-covered stuff.

Not an endorsement, just an option!

Don't know why but this clinic looks very familiar is to me but I can't point if I've been there before or just looked at the website... Will keep this in mind if the one I'm going to is shit as well. Which I really don't hope.
