Tsumeten umeda and dotonbori

Hi all,

Staying around dotonbori area at a hostel and have acouple of days to kill before i fly out saturday arvo. Googling around to see what good places are for a foreigner to just have a drink and chat

My main question is about tsumaten umeda, namely- has anyone frequented this place recently? And how was getting in as a foreigner with little japanese speaking ability? The most recebt threads were from last year around July so i dont know how current the info is. I have already tried emailing the provider yesterday but no response thus far.

For dotonbori, anyone want to chill out in the evenings and go for a drink? First time travelling solo.

I went to Tsumaten last year. I didn’t call ahead, but just walked in and didn’t have any issues. I do speak Japanese, but I didn’t get the feeling they were testing me or anything like some places.
