What To Do On New Year's Eve?

A friend from abroad is visiting Tokyo and wants to go out with me on the 31st. I can take him to some normal bars or a club in Roppongi but that is kind of boring in my opinion. Any ideas for an interesting party or event?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm single, don't have a date, and all my friends have plans with their girlfriends. Where should a late-20's western guy go on new year's in Tokyo to have some fun?

If you wanna just pull easy, quality aside, I recommend an international or singles party, or drink at home for the countdown then go bounce around roppongi in the early am. If you want to just chill and shoot the shit in a cool, relaxing atmosphere, maybe meet some interesting more sophisticated types head to a small whiskey bar someplace like ebisu
