This VERY important topic is often glanced over in PUA and not fully appreciated by many men, and the lack of understanding can be the CAUSE of their problems with women.
Women decide if they would or wouldn't have sex and if they are physically attracted to a man VERY QUICKLY. Between 30 seconds to 5 minutes. Visually very quickly, and then his voice and mannerisms as confirmation.
So, very quickly, men are put into yes, no, or maybe categories which will have a STRONG affect on the rest of the interaction.

If a woman has mentally placed you here, you can do almost anything and have the woman. Trip, be clumsy, be silly, fart, etc... Not much PUA or any technique is required.
How you look, height, physical condition, natural charisma, fashion, fame, etc... can have a lot to do with it.
And this is where some men can fall into the trap where they think PUA or having any skills talking to women are not needed. Some women try to game this thinking too, where they hypocritially say men should be natural, while she wears tons of makeup, has breast implants/push up bras, sexy dresses, etc... Don't fall into this trap, PUA skills can be highly valuable, just not so much when it's "yes" and she already wants to have sex and is extremely attracted.
I have picked up women from clubs and the street and had sex within 30 minutes of meeting them (car parking lot). And I have witnessed my swinger pals do it even faster, including a recorded incredible 12 minute street pickup, to very consensual sex (stairs of building). She remained his sex friend for a couple months afterwards, and he brought her to swinger parties. By the way, she was married, just to show what many women do.
This ISN'T how all my interaction with women go and it happens only occasionally, but it is to say that it's VERY possible.
However the problem here is that some men do NOT recognize when women have given them the green light for sex, OR (very importantly) they are TALKING themselves OUT of sex and the "yes" category.
Will go over important signals in a separate DTF thread, but clearly many guys don't realize when women are horny and ready. And it can frustrate women too, as she may not understand why a guy doesn't get it.

The HUGE mistake many men make is not realizing they are in the "no" category and trying to push or sneak their way in.
Often their ego can't accept defeat, so they waste ENORMOUS time, money, and effort. This is the source reason for many orbiters (begging no sex friends) or tools (unwittingly abused for money and favors). They are hoping beyond hope that a woman might one day change her mind and bestow sexual favors upon them. And in the vast majority of cases, she NEVER does. Often she abuses or plays such men for fools, and even makes fun or has disdain for them.
Remember those famous lyrics?
"You've got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away, know when to run..."
This is where the tactics of myself and swinger friends differ from some types of PUA. There is NO magic formula to force or change a "no" into "yes".
Instead, you want to quickly access what category a woman has put you in, and if "no" then EJECT and MOVE ON to the NEXT woman.
This is mathematically important because your odds of finding a "yes" woman INCREASE and partially it's the secret reason feminists quietly war against PUA and highly sexual and available heterosexual women. Various women want to LIMIT/CONTROL the choices men have and make sure those choices are LESS than what women have.
The power a woman has over a man, is directly proportional to how much he wants to pursue her. By being mentally strong enough to move on when you are not getting what you want or need, EMPOWERS men. And many men don't realize that most women are shopping men like a market, based on what's in her best selfish interest and benefit. She will MOVE ON or BLOCK access when you are not her type OR even if she feels you are not worthy of her girlfriends either.
When you, as a man, become aware of what to look for and NOT to limit yourself to pursuing dead ends and women wasting your time, you are mathematically more likely to find the type of women that you want. And you can even change the "market" between men and women, where women want to be more like what you want in order to be chosen or be popular.

You CAN change a "maybe" into "yes". If you want to have sex with a woman that has put you in the "maybe" category, it's best to QUICKLY identify WHY she has put you there. Then work on changing her perception of you through your conversation, actions, or 3rd party endorsements of you.
Example- A woman might be very physically attracted to you, but not trust you. If you quickly pick up on that, you can possibly change her perception of you. You could mention a or a couple of stories about how coworkers and friends trust you with personal secrets and put faith in you. Her shift in perception about you in response, can mean starting a sexual relationship gets the green light.
The better a guy is at accessing what category a woman has put him, by observing her facial expressions/body language and words, the better he will be at understanding women. The better a guy is at changing "maybe" into "yes", the more women he can have sexual relationships with.
