Best book series for studying Japanese?

I've looked at lots of these and like the Japanese Now series from the University of Hawaii press best. Ganbatte!

Review: Studio First Akihabara photo shoot

Hmm, afraid I wouldn't know how to start that without risking getting the tencho called in. Something to consider if I go back, though. http://st-jasmine.tokyo/ And Sudsy - the lights were standalone adjustable LED lights - no remotes or camera sync.

Review: Studio First Akihabara photo shoot

Yup - that's right. As been said, not for all, but I found it worthwhile? BTW, who is that in your avatar? Nice shot. :)

Review: Studio First Akihabara photo shoot

The pose I asked her to do was the 6th on that site - minus the two male props, of course. Yes- not supposed to post pics publicly - here, or from the shoot, if I understand correctly.

Review: Studio First Akihabara photo shoot

Yeah, the "no touch" rule made things different than most reviews here, and although I think I would have enjoyed being able to touch, it was still a fun experience. Where have you gone, AMcguyver?

Booking a gravure idol for a photoshoot

Ah. I did hear about some that would sign a waiver for you to own the photos, but don't remember which ones they were. All the Studio-first like places seem to have a notice that all photos are private use only. Good luck and report back if you find anything!

I've been looking into Studio First as a possibility for my next Japan trip. Others have reported on it here as well.

    Av Recording Events

I'm thinking about trying one of these photo sessions next time I'm in japan. My rudimentary Japanese, however, does not have the vocabulary necessary to easily pose a naked woman. Any suggestions on some good words/phrases I should add to my vocabulary to help with the session? Thanks!

    Your Favorite Japanese Movies

A second for Itami Juzo. Start with Tampopo. Also saw two on the airplane a while back about a Roman bath designer that gets magically transported to modern Japan for ideas. Films only the Japanese could make.

Why Did You Choose Your Avatar?

Have seen plenty of her pics, but not many videos, alas. I figured Sorachan would be too cliche, so it was down to Chiasa and Akira Watase. Close, but Chiasa won.;)

    Kabukicho And Annoying Touts

I had to laugh last month walking through Kabuki-cho a few times. The touts would grab my arm and say "nice to meet you". I'd say "but we haven't met" and keep going. All in all, it was rather difficult to just stroll through the area and look around without being pounced upon several times.
