I always wonder if there is any obvious difference between girls in the same shop?

Uniform is a big factor indeed in Japanese culture.
When I was back in high school (90's) it was the time that a lot of girls schools except really prestigious ones struggled to collect enough students. More girls became interested co-ed school than girls only's.
