Remember this place! And never go there!

I had an accident there. I paid to a Japanese guy to have a girl. He escorted me to this place. On the 5th floor of this building there is a small hotel (that guy works for this hotel). When girl came to the room, she asked my credit card and when I said that I don't have it, she asked to wait and then she just gone.
After that I started to search that Japanese guy. I found him with another new clients, he didn't wanted to listen me. Then I warned new clients that this guy is a liar, he started to shout at me and we had a fight.
In fact, I couldn't get my money back.

I wanted to call police, but one person in the street told me that police is useless in Kabukicho. Yakudza controls everything.

So please be careful and put this place in black list:

160-0000 Tokyo-to, Shinjuku-ku, Kabukicho, 2 Chome-11-4 Lee3 (5th floor)

I wouldn't say never speak to strangers. But do NOT trust the street hustlers trying to sell you women or pull you from the street and into their clubs.

I went to Kabukicho only once. And it was purely out of curiosity, as a tourist. I will never ever go there any more, just too much of a PITA. If you really have to, I would suggest to be nice in saying "no thanks" to those huge muscular black males.. I would fear risking a fight with them.

Happened to my buddy when he was here. My advice is not to fight them off but just be cool to those black guys and say I'm good or pretend you are on the phone.

It really is best to just stay away from Kabuki-Cho at night. The guys on the street there are just scam artists and customers. Its not all bad there. there are some good places there, but you really gotta do your research on what are the good places.

Kabukicho is a place, and that's separate from street hustlers. There are many great, fun, and legitimate places at a Kabukicho. Just don't get scammed by street hustlers into buying women.

I've been there a lot recently and when approached I just smile and them and talk in real fast English that I'm late for an appointment and they smile back....wave......but don't get me wrong.....I've been taken advantage of in the past but I learned my lesson well. I've got to go through the seedy area to get where I'm going. I love the metal bars.....

Exactly, it's not all bad. Just like all other aspects in life, you gotta have a plan so you can get the best deal out in kabuki-cho. Or else you will get scammed.

Care to share any details?
I will be avoiding that area. I hate pushy touts.

Pretty much every African man there and any japanese man wearing a suit that is not drunk. Some wear street clothes too. It's just beat to avoid anybody soliciting anything at night.

Do they get up in your face? The Gypsy touts in Spain don't take no for an answer.
Do they actually threaten you?

They do get in your face, a bit. Just walk around them. I've never been threatened, but I did shake hands with an African guy who decided he didn't want to let my hand go. I had to hear him out for what he was advertising. I told him I had no money. They usually back off of you say you have no money.

Oh ok. Thanks for the strategies.

Oh, yeah. Never shake hands with anybody! :D

Should remind everyone, that most of the street hustlers are Japanese/Asian, not African.

I say this because: 1) Many of the Japanese/Asian hustlers will tell you to watch out for the Africans, then THEY try to trick or hustle you. 2) The Africans are often trying to get you into their clubs, where the Japanese/Asian hustlers have scams where they try to get your money on the street by promising non-existent women (fake photo album).

Kabukicho isn't that bad. You guys make it sound like a dangerous hole which it's not - you should try some other places in Asia where you get mugged. Here is my advice:

1) Don't trust anyone who comes up to you with offers of drinks or girls - Japanese, black guys or Chinese women. The only ones who may be trust worthy are the ones who are not interested in you anyway.

2) Don't be one of those dumb ass foreigner who gets all defensive, rude and aggressive to the touts, especially to the black ones. All you need to do is nod and say something like 'not today' or 'next time'. They will leave you alone.

If you dont do this and let your dick do the thinking then you probably deserve to be scammed cos you're not street smart enough.

Kabuki-Cho isn't all bad. I go there often. You just need to have a plan on where you are going and don't listen to scammers (which are plentiful).

Avoiding the touts are easy. I tell the Africans I got a party to go to and they're cool. The Japanese are more passive aggressive about it but just say you have other arrangements. Don't make it physical unless you have no choice but to defend yourself. The only touts you should trust are the ones in 無料案内 or information centers. They are your friend.

I had a similar experience, and I guess in my naivete, fell for it. First time in Tokyo, lol... I was lured to a girl club, by an African 'hustler' (why are there African hustlers in Tokyo any way..?). Told I could mingle with girls, and drink all the beer I wanted for 1 hour for 6000 Yen. Then, in only 10 minutes, the proprietor/bartender came over and offered a new drink menu with outrageous drink prices -- 30,000 - 50,000 yen for a bottle of champagne or whiskey. I said forget, and left; he became quite irritated.

So, yes, i agree, best to ignore any street hustlers in Kabukicho, as they almost certainly aren't legit. Unfortunately, without a guide, its difficult to find a legit place for some nooky-nooky with a local girl in Kabukicho, as there are very few signs in English.

The lone existence of such a menu doesn't indicate scam. Almost any kyaba I visited had one on top of the standard flat rate and they often reach up to like 200k for champagne.
Following an African tout however is a relatively safe hint for disaster ;)
I have actually never been approached by the manager for drinks outside the flat rate. Usually the menu sits on the small table and in rare cases a girl brings up the topic if they hope they can milk you (think they get a fair share).
Normally you always pay before you get something (drink, extension etc.), so if they don't ask money upfront, it's fishy.

"Yakudza" lol.

Really, are the Nigerians so easy to deal with for you guys? As a foreign girl i don't really get approaches by Japanese scouts ans touts much, except sometimes the host club catches.
The Nigerians however are really pushy (think they can put me in some bar job, but of course i'm not gonna work for known scammers who only care about sex and getting money for themselves) and they'll follow me around as far as they are allowed, or keep calling me. One times this guy grabbed my arm and i was already in a bad mood so i was like "don't touch me!" and he was like "i can touch you if i want bitch" and it looked really like he was gonna hit me and he was like twice as big as me. Terrifying. Except for them Kabuki cho is so fun for me. But some month there are almost no African touts, it really depends.

Are you kidding me! Especially in Roppongi, I tell them to fuck off and I ain't afraid of going to the penitentiary again or dying on on the street(1 kidney). And I'm not even a big guy. Even that doesn't always make them leave, but most back off a further distance. They won't assault you. I would feel more physically threatened walking the ghetto in my country during lunchtime.

I dealt with them using humour, fun and "cut the crap"'s but I feel they don't diserve being entertained, and even less being respected for what they do.
