hi All,

Has anyone ever brought Cialis to Japan? Any restrictions? Went through the importing medicine page from japan gov, doesn’t state Cialis As illegal. Not planning to bring a lot, just 4-5 pills.

Thank you for the help.

The only thing you should double check is opioid painkillers. They're massively hard to get here due the restrictions.

If you're concerned at all, apply for a yakkan shomei.

You might be surprised at some of common medications from overseas that are prohibited here. Sudafed, for example.

Always a good idea to check ahead of travelling with medication, and a yakkan shomei is necessary if you intend to bring more than a month's supply.

Sudafed is restricted in a lot of places, it is one of the ingredients for cooking meth.

Never ever have they checked my yakkan shomei, but I complete it every time just in case. I still recall the Toyota executive that got busted for pain meds. Btw I don't put my Vitamin V on it, not on any list I have seen.

Thanks for this, I wasn't previously aware of that. In the UK (where I am at the moment) you can buy ibuprofen, paracetamol or aspirin over the counter and you can also get combined tablets that also contain between 2% and 5% codeine as well. So, for example, you can buy ibuprofen tablets or ibuprofen & codeine tablets.

I'll be careful to take the correct ones.

Same for me, the strongest you can get OTC here is regular ibuprofen. Anything else needs a prescription.

She got busted for stupidly accepting a FEDEX package from the U.S. which had Oxycontin camouflaged as a child necklace. No company can afford a PR chief that stupid.

Sorry, I probably wasn't being too clear. I meant that you can also get ibuprofen & codeine tablets or paracetamol & codeine tablets OTC as well but only up to about 5% codeine. But any higher than that is prescription only.

What OTC painkiller contains 5% codeine?

The most well known brand name is Nurofen Plus but there are also generic versions sold by Boots and other pharmacy chains (think something like CVS or Walgreens in the US). I don't know what country you're in, but the Nurofen brand is sold in most countries except the USA. Here is what is in it:-

Ingredients
Active Ingredients : Ibuprofen 200mg, Codeine Phosphate 12.8mg

You have to go to the actual pharmacy and ask for it in person but you don't need a prescription.

There are also paracetamol & codeine tablets which contain 8mg of codeine and 500mg of paracetamol or aspirin & codeine tablets with 500mg of aspirin:-

Ingredients
Active Ingredients: Each effervescent table contains: Paracetamol 500mg and Codeine Phosphate 8mg.

Was not aware of the necklace part , yeah, well.

She was actually asked by the police how many times she had traveled to Japan. Subliminal message: "Couldn't you have simply put it in your bag, you moron?"

Bron is marketed as a cough suppressant, but it's 17% codeine. Very effective post-dental work.

Cialis is fine. You can bring it in your suitcase or in your carry-on. Just be careful with some of the other medicines that people have listed here.

What do you mean "checked"? Do you give it to them on your way through at customs? I know when my father gives his, they always check it.

No, I did once, forgot the next time, and since then they have not asked for it, even though the item is in its own bag in plain sight.
