I've recently come across this on a dating site here in Japan. Girls want you to buy one of these cards before that meet you. They want you to tell them the number of the peeled off back of the card. It has the feeling of "Rip-off" written all over it but before I say/do anything, does anyone have any experience with this?
Yeah it's a scam
Line had this problem with some hackers getting into users accounts then they would ask the friends to do the same & send the number.
In the US over Social Media they tell people if you buy a prepaid charged credit card they can triple the amount.
You send them the number they withdraw your money ASAP & block you on Social Media.
All scams watch out.
