But it seemed Kabukicho was more escort focused and the Soaplands I could find there were significantly more expensive (This is not a statement of fact, only my perception through limited research, highlighting my own blindspots, I did not realize Ikebukuro was also an area with some cheaper soaplands, relatively closer than Yoshiwara.)
3 - Eventually i just searched "Soapland" on google maps and the SPA KADOEBI showed up 10 minutes from my hotel. I looked it up here and found some reviews with this one from azndraon catching my eye as he pointed out Izumi spoke English and was okay with foreigners, which would also calm down my nerves over potential miscommunication. For some reason I remember having the impression KADOEBI might've only been okay with Asian gaijins, looking back I think that was my anxiety looking for problems, I am white so this was also something on my mind.
4 - On my last full day I checked the site's website and saw that Izumi would be available from 6:00-11:00 Sunday morning, which aligned perfectly with my flight later in the day, So i decided there were enough signs that I should go through with this. I considered booking, but was still on the fence so decided on a walk-in, went out to drink the night before and upon waking up without alarm at 5:30, took a shower, was teased by my buddy for going to such a service in the morning and left.
5 - The venue was well beyond my expectations, the entrance had a sign saying foreigners welcome which relaxed me a bit and the price tag of 24K for 70 mins, that aligned with what I read online, fully expecting to pay a 10K gaijin tax plus that, which was within my price range, hoping to at most spend a total 40K. Online and on the entrance the 24k was for 70 mins and 18K for 50 mins, so I'm not sure of the math for 60, but I did end up staying about 70 mins.
7 - Followed by that the counter Oji-san slid 6-8 pictures down the counter towards me. I was surprised by the amount as all previous stories I had read gaijin were offered very few restricted options. I assume since it was an early morning (around 7-8) all were available and they were indeed a gaijin friendly venue, or they always offer all options and caveats and pushbacks arise as you choose. I did not linger on the other girls, I quickly scanned for Izumi and saw her picture, they all had the same pictures as the website, but without the blurred faces. Firstly, apologies for the massive story, thank you if you got to here, I just felt i had to pour my heart out over every detail of my first experience if anything to cover all bases for future guys as neurotic as I, and go through my own feeling on this, So apologies for my selfish indulging.
Despite my struggles there is nothing to criticize. Izumi was phenomenal, she was very skilled at matplay which is what I was most excited to experience, and was very patient and kind when guiding this nervous virgin speaking a foreign language, while also slightly teasing in just the right amount for me. I expected a subpar service given I had seen soaplands at even twice the price of this one in the region. But if this is the average service, then I can only imagine the luxury soaps have girls able to do a spinaroonie on my back during matplay.
