Dinner course with escort

I should be heading back to Japan in a couple of months time and I've always wanted to try a dinner course with an escort. There's one thing that I'm a bit unsure of.

I would guess that I would meet the escort at the restaurant but when is the appropriate time to give them the money? I'm worried about drawing attention to what is going on. Even if I give them the money inside an envelope, does that look suspicious? Has anyone tried a dinner course and knows what the etiquette is?

If you are going with Asian Mystique, I'd just email them and ask what the etiquette is. Otherwise, it might be best to buy a greeting card and include the dough in there. It's pretty common to give money for birthdays, etc, although on a one on one date, I'm not so sure.
