Akebonoyu, 曙湯, that Fuji flower must have look really nice in April.

The sento was only 10 minutes walk away from Darling Harbour.

I was looking at their website and Aoi caught my eyes. I read some reviews here which seems to be positive so I was curious.

Arrived at the place and the guy in front asked me in English "telephone?" which I understood he was meant to ask me if I have made a reservation. I replied in Japanese 予約してなかった。 He then asked me where I am from, and let me in.

Went to the waiting room, another guy came with pictures. Aoi's picture was on the top so I told him I wanted to see her.

When I actually get to see her I was shocked.

She looks like she is 20 older than her picture. Probably in her 40s. Her legs are so thin. You could broke her legs with your bare hands, seriously. My guess it is because she has been working in this industry for a long time.

Unfortunately, older reviews are not very useful, I doubt it is the same Aoi.

Damn reading this it seems like their "only 3 reservations per day" tagline is due to her health and condition (I noticed that she usually works only 2-3 days per week), rather than exclusivity. I also wanna say not having a blog is a big red flag for the mid-tier places, because that usually means the girl or the shop has something to hide.

I don't know if that is the same Aoi. If my memory served me right, Aoi used to be at Bara no Sono, left and disappeared for a while, then join DH late last year. I'm not sure when did Aoi join Bara no Sono, but i still remember her photos at DH's website, as they are the same photos from Bara no Sono's page. In fact, you can still find her partial profile at Bara no Sono's website via Google's image search, if you searched with the terms "吉原 薔薇の園 Aoi" (吉原 =Yoshiwara, 薔薇の園 = Bara no Sono)

I feel the same way. There are some hot ladies at yoshiwara but you have no guarantee of getting one even with a bit of research and paying high-end prices. Also the rooms themselves at most places are so shitty its almost off-putting.

For me at least, soaps are similar to what New Hot Point was; the concept is amazing and in theory works so well but the reality is usually different.

Are you saying that a reservation is needed and one cannot just walk in now? i do plan to go there in two weeks but not sure which day exactly.

I did read that but he specifically mentioned that he was asked if he had a reservation or not, which is why i had the doubt since i have not read the same else where on the forum
