Getting Stared as Escort in Japan

Or option #3 : married to an expat with a 5 year visa.

Should she get arrested, this will result in not only her deportation, but that of the person on whose visa she is a dependent. Very, very bad idea.

Edit: And FWIW. I have seen this play out with executives whose spouses were caught shoplifting.

Ouch.... Did that result in a perm. ban from Japan or period of exclusion?

We won't actively promote skirting the visa rules. Thanks.

The bolded part, extremely ill-advised -- this is something that will draw instant attention from the wrong people. (and I don't just mean the legal type)

Everything is fair game, but doing go posting on SA if you're really going to be an escort.

I see some kind of contradiction here between the two first sentences... :D
If they have the proper visas, why advertising only in English ?
As for the last one... well it's no secret I'm on SA already ;)

Non-drug related offenses net you a five year ban on entry, in this case also extended to the sponsoring spouse. Only drug related offenses will get you a lifetime ban.

That said, if you've received a ban on entry, your chances of being approved for a work visa in the future are slim to none.

Even if they have a visa to live here, they aren't going to be registered under the fuzoku legal registration system.
Moreover, with the local guys having control over the scene and having a site in Japanese will attract the wrong attention from a few groups.

(And the obvious, having a site in Japanese but cannot communicate in Japanese, what's the point?)

English sites are not under scrutiny as much as those in Japanese.
This is why you don't see other Japanese (or other) independent types with a Japanese site.

That makes sense, drugs are an instant perma exclusion for a lot of countries.

In a lot of countries they're a permanent exclusion from the rest of your life.

I know three people that burned themselves and lost their ability to enter the U.S. via the ESTA program. They can still come to the U.S. but only with a proper visa approved prior to their trip. I'm not entirely sure of the reason for rejection, but I'm sure it has to do with the 'planned activities' while in the U.S. as a visitor.

Ok , got it.
So I would still advise the OP's friend - assuming she has the proper visa whatever it is - to become an indie if she has the right set of looks and skills and advertise only in English if she's after the expats market (and/or English-speaking-Japanese-wishing-for some-exotic-experiences market) . Own website with good SE optimization+TAG+Backpage+ SA and/or Universe Club for sugaring opportunities

I did a quick Google search using Japanese keywords such as 外人エスコート or 外人風俗 etc. So yes indeed you can't find indies but a whole bunch of delivery health services proposing blonde ladies (I'm not even talking about other Asians like Thais etc).
Example:
https://fuzoku.jp/tokyo/ge_29/

Ok the pics are certainly fake but I would not see the point in doing this if the girls were not indeed at least Caucasian . So what kind of visas those ladies have ? Just Spouse or PR? That seems hard to believe...

A lot of them are here on sham marriages. Just like a lot of the nigerians and other types...
A spouse (of a Japanese national) visa is a golden pass and easy to obtain most of the time.

The agencies, sadly, are usually registered but I don't know how they get around the inspections. I'm not privy to the inside ops of these groups. They key however, is that they are operated by 1 of 5 major groups, usually. So, they probably also have the backing to payoff people in power to keep certain eyes busy elsewhere.

Ok so that's another way for the OP's friend ... much harder and much less profitable apparently :
- get a sham marriage with a Japanese citizen
- learn enough Japanese to at least say something intelligible before your mouth gets otherwise occupied
- find a delivery health agency specialized in foreign escorts
- get crappy pay (apparently around JPY 10k an hour , based on what I just saw) half of which will be for the agency

Voilà!

Less so than before since the changes to the immigration act - most notably that they can now revoke spouse visas for things like not living together or otherwise not acting like a normal married couple.

Ah yeah, it does have some teeth now.

Anyone remember Mixi? A number of years ago there was a social group there that was mainly Japanese women who married a foreigner who then vanished after getting their spouse of Japanese national status. There was never a scientific poll, but the postings were full of women who married foreigners (from everywhere) who inexplicably vanished once they had the stamp in their passport.

So... yeah.

The sad thing is that your list is very accurate for a lot of women who are stranded in Japan and forced (or have choice) but to work for the rates you've quoted here.

Yes, I just understood that now cause I'm very naive and frankly didn't even think about finding foreign women on Japanese sites . Now I know I can. But I probably won't ...

By the way it also makes me think that those who charge multiples of those amounts (and don't need to give a cut to an agency ) should REALLY be grateful and be able to swallow criticisms from time to time...

That is my favourite sentence "has failed to continue to engage in the activity as a spouse for six months".

Obviously that means in real-life you need to separate the trash and take it out on the correct days.

It could also mean "having frequent and mutually-satisfying sex with the spouse after kids were born". That's a clear case of failure in Japan! :D

MikeH should qualify for early permanent residency, splitting hairs certainly seems like a highly skilled occupation. ;)

Sorry, I prefer my girls shaved!

And don't you mean early permanent retirement instead? They gave me the PR decades ago, just goes to show not even the Japanese bureaucrats get it right all the time!

How much did you bribe ? :D

You probably missed the part where they said "spouse". Why would anyone want to have it like you propose? It would mean a lot of lost jobs too!

I know, that's why I meant it would be a case of "non-normal couple activity" or whatever the wording was. In fact, it could probably be even cause for internment in an asylum!
