Narrative of the Encounter:
Hello, I have waited patiently to join in order to provide this review as browsing TAG was very helpful in figuring out how to visit a soap for the first time which as we all know is a nervous experience. This was more than a half year ago so some details such as the exact pricing are hazy, but I believe I estimated pretty accurately.
I was in Japan visiting people and had been to Japan many times, always wanting to go to soap; but not knowing how or where. I did see a lot of mentions about Ikebukuro Gold and Marine Blue (Which I think owns Gold? - Its confusing) so I decided to give it a try. My Japanese ability is not fluent, but it is conversational, and I think more importantly although I am not fully confident in the language, I spoke as confidently as possible and cheerfully, trying to use the proper teineigo and have a smile on my face when speaking to tenchou. Just had on the back of my mind that if I couldn't, its not a big deal, to keep nerves down.

I decided to try Ikebukuro Gold first, which is on the second floor of a building with a ramen or other food shop. I thought I was speaking to the tenchou of gold but instead to the owner of the shop, who politely pointed out the stairs that lead up to Gold. Despite frequent mentions that Gold is foreigner friendly, when I asked tenchou if foreigners are ok/allowed, he asked "Can you speak Japanese?" to which I answered "Yes, simple Japanese is no problem". He then said it was not possible and sent me on my way.

I headed to Ikebukuro Marine Blue 1F (Entrance looks like a pachinko parlor with the sailor girls) where I asked the same question and was told by two nice young men in the front counter "Oh yes, no problem". They took a look at their schedule and such as showed me 3 or 4 girls to choose from - though I had researched the girls on cityheaven, and had a couple in mind, only 2 I had interest in were shown to me (these are foreigner OK girls). Here their faces are unblurred and I decided on Mimi-chan as she was very cute.

I was asked to pay (its all done with an ATM-like machine, you do not hand tenchou your money), giving a 2 or 3 thousand yen foreigner tax and then asked something I didn't understand, then in English "Where you from?"; when I answered America, tenchou was happy and led me to the waiting room where the world cup was on TV. You wait for your number to be called and are then briefed with a sign on the wall with 10 or so rules. I couldn't understand them all, but they boil down to no violence, no stalking, no forced sex, photos, etc etc.

Mimi met me in santa attire and was extremely bubbly and nice from the start. She led me to the room where we spoke fully in Japanese, but she did make small efforts to say some thing in English. I cannot stress how nice this girl was, she was motivated and was eager to show me a good time especially after I said it was my first time at soapland and I didn't know what to do. She made jokes and smiled the whole time, trying to help me relax and have a good time. She asked a lot if she could take off each article of clothing and then asked me to return the favor. Mimi's chest is on the smaller side and she was only 20 so a petite figure, but still very beautiful. We sat in the shower to wash off and brush our teeth, the whole time she is making conversation (I of course helped to make conversation as well) and she was patient with my rough Japanese. Once she is giving me a wash I decided to go for it and helped soap her up as well which she was very receptive to and enjoyed. She let me play with her nipples freely and giggled when I did. We get in the bath where she starts to stroke me while making more conversation and speaking honestly; once I started getting more aroused she played into it and teased a little bit which made the experience better.

At this point she says "Jya Ikou" and signals its time to go to the bed (appreciated as another girl might just leave me in the tub the whole time if I don't make the first move). Mimi starts bareback oral which she did very well, and was getting quite into it herself especially when I would touch her back. At one point she asks me something I couldn't understand, yet I answer "yes" and she positions herself into a 69 asking me to return the favor. I wasn't planning to do so but she loved when I did which convinced me at that point Mimi wasn't pretending to be enjoying the date. She says she can't wait and grabs the condom, which she clumsily tried to put on but apparently it was too small and she mentioned I was "much bigger" than the average customer. She grabs some large condoms out of a shelf and goes into cowgirl. Mimi might have enjoyed herself even more than me and bounces on me in a way I've only ever seen JAV girls do with some crazy core strength. She asks if we can kiss and after a yes makes out happily while she continues to bounce. I am almost ready to finish with how excited I am and she keep saying dame, imploring that I can't finish yet.

Eventually however the inveitable happens and Mimi get off and removes the condom. While I wait to reset she talks more and allows me to play with her chest and body; once ready to go again she gets into position and the timer rings to which she remarks an "Oh no". We shower again during which I am still able to feel her body and we keep talking casually at this point. We help each other dress and she gives me a final goodbye kiss. Additionally she asks if I would like a note and after a yes she signs a little thank you business card and a smiley face, and hands it to me with a box of MeltyKiss. She says she hopes I can visit again next time I am in Japan and escorts me to the first floor. I say goodbye to Mimi and wish her the best.

Tenchou immediately asks with a smile if everything was to my satisfaction and is happy to hear my yes. They lead me to the door and happily say their thank yous and come again as I leave Marine Blue happy to have met such an honestly nice girl. I cannot see Mimi in the cityheaven website anymore and she used to have a blog there, so I do not know if she is still around, but wherever she is I wish her the best and hope she is reaching her goals.

A week later I returned to Marine Blue but Mimi was not working and so I decide to the 5F shop; where the experience with the girl (I cannot even remember her name) was much less enjoyable as she clearly did not want to be working/was not happy. Goes to show how the girl's attitude can make or break.

Review Independence: Was this review requested by the Soapland?:
No, this review was written without a request from the Soapland or their provider.

Final Thoughts:
Recommended, Will Repeat.

Closing Comments:
Assuming it remains the same, I definitely recommend Marine Blue as both 1F and 5F were happy to allow a foreigner to patronize and didn't play language quizzes at the door. The only thing is although there was a mat against the wall, Mimi mentioned she did not do mat play, and I don't know if other girls there do; but regardless, I would definitely return again.

Thank you for your report!

So I'm very new to these kind of activities. Is it very random if they allow you in or not? As I have been to Ikebukuro Gold recently and was allowed in, despite barely being able to say anything in Japanese. I just assumed it was their shop aimed more at foreigners as it cost more. Does it depend on skin color?

Each shop has their own criteria based on a variety of things.
  • Some places base it on your Japanese-ness
(an East Asian with native Japanese is OK, all others no)
  • Some places base it on your language ability.
(Up to and including counter staff that will try to trip you up with obscure vocabulary)
  • Some base it on your country of origin
(1st world nations generally OK, 3rd world less so, etc.)
  • Some base it on your Asian-ness.
    (Asian foreigners OK, blacks/whites not)
Some base it on your European-ness.
(Caucasian foreigners OK, all other ethnicities not)
  • Some (rarely) base it on your residence card
(residents OK, tourists and military not welcome)
  • Some only allow older foreigners (less likely to be a problem, more likely to have money)

Some will also tell you that foreigners aren't allowed because it's easier that saying your Japanese isn't up to par, or that you smell like a locker room, or that you're too drunk, or that there are no girls on at the moment who take foreign customers.

Some shops even have an actual spreadsheet with each girl and what conditions she's willing to accept -Marine Blue Honten actually does this. Actually have heard the mutterings from the counter guy when I did a walk in there.... "OK, A-ko will take Americans/Canadians/Europeans, but only if they're Asian and have impeccable Japanese. B-ko is fine with Caucasians, but no Germans or Russians, and no young guys. She's OK for this guy.... "

Note that the 5th floor is slightly cheaper and therefore you should expect less enthusiasm / skill / looks than 1st floor.

Thanks for the thorough explanation.

That make sense. I guess I would fall into places that are okay with Asian foreigners, as a ethnically Korean person from Europe.

Good list from @Sudsy sensei as always.

Some shops base it on your nationality; only Japanese accepted but with a proof of citizenship even non-native looking people are fine.

Some doorguys base it on if they got a BJ from the missus in the morning and they feel good about life. If not then any reason to reject is a good one.

meaning gaijin would need to show japanese passport as proof of citizenship?

and to add, if business is good, they more likely to reject foreigners so there will be more slot for japanese. there seems to be a mindset more repeaters from japanese compared to foreigners.

The main alternative would be bringing your koseki. Also your driver licence's chip contains your honseki and thus can be used to prove citizenship as long as the shop has device to read the license. ;)
