If so, what happened? Of course this is in regards to escorts and the services they provide, I'm not talking about getting in trouble with the law in the general sense.
 
As a general rule, clients are never charged with anything unless the provider is under-aged.

Well and unless of course there is rape or worse .

As for escorts maybe a (remote) risk would be not so much the Fuzoku-related regulations but simply not paying taxes?

Well, yes, in cases of clients assaulting escorts (or vice versa) a whole different rulebook comes into play.

I am guessing their first move would throw the book for you for breaking your visa conditions. Working for anything fuzoku related is possible pretty much only with PR.

And if it's MPs then a quite big percentage of the girls are already over their 3 month visas to begin with.

If they raid a MP then it might happen that the clients get dragged to the police station too. But for interviews only, they would try to get you confess getting something which is not allowed and then throw the book to the owner of the shop.

Of course if the police wants to be nasty they could make your wife to collect you from the station. :p

I've been participating in this industry since the late 70's and have not yet run into the law in any instance. Maybe just luck?

They really don't care unless some real laws are being broken.

A good number of the Chinese SP's I have gotten to know have had marriages arranged - or have arranged their own marriages - to be here for the work. Mostly to older guys who (I guess) don't care either way.

The going rate is supposed to be only from 300 thousand to half a million to get you married and with a spouse visa. Older guys for sure but also young punks with some criminal connections.

I thought immigration is pretty suspicious about age difference when reviewing visa applications. Plus they are also more critical on girls from countries like China, as far as i know.

Well, the used to be looser in the past i guess, and I suppose still a lot of ladies slip through.

I suspect that most young punks of that variety know enough about the ugly, dirty aspect of marriage in Japan to steer clear of this kind of entanglement.

That probably depends on how long past we look at but it used to be really strict. Even if you lived in Japan and was married for 10 years with couple of kids they would check out everyone close to you, including the neighbours.

Though last time when I had to visit the immigration the place was full of older Japanese guys with really young Thai and Philippina girls. And most of them were carrying an infant with them so maybe popping one out would make the visa easier to get?

As far as I know they don't normally even live together after the visa is issued. But half a million at once and getting laid regularly until she gets PR might not sound like a very bad deal.

I doubt these guys would be getting laid from their "wives" anyway and would prefer to keep their options open.

Its not said they are girls with a fake marriage though. They could be mailorder brides.

Yes but if they can take the money and don't have to live together, and they don't intend to have a real marriage with any girl anyway, its a pretty good situation for them.

As I understand it, for lots of men out in the countryside, farmers or whatever, this is often the only way to get a wife of childbearing age. I've heard but have no proof that immigration will overlook an age difference with a rural address. Essentially yes, mail order brides.

Maybe yot forget that 20 or 30 years ago arranged marriages between Japanese were quite common .
