It's been discussed and it's something we will do. There is actually a maintenance today to adjust some settings in preparation for this.

However, from a usefulness factor... we're not transmitting overly secure data. (at least, you'd better not be sending sensitive details on a site like this, regardless.)

We're mainly adding SSL to make Google shutup.

It is possible to get free https certificate on https://letsencrypt.org/, need to renew every 3 month though.

I'm closing this off.

Getting a SSL cert is not a problem and neither is flipping the switch on enabling HTTPS (no matter the server/equipment).

Anyone that says it's hard to get or enable a SSL cert for HTTPS is an idiot that doesn't know what they are doing on any platform.
