A few weeks ago, our shop manager informed us that a certain twitter account was very antagonistic against one of our girls, and advised those of us who us twitter for work to block him. Basically, he was calling that girl fugly, saying she was a pig, and sometimes had anger outbursts where he would write "[Our shop name]'s [girl name] die" repeatedly until he reaches character limit.

Mind you, he has never met her. However he met an other girl from our shop, which means we have his mobile phone number, so i suggested Manager to contact the police and let them deal with him. But she told me that police won't move unless he explicitely say he's going to kill her (殺す), just saying "Die!"(死ね) is not considered a death threat. Even 5 full lines of it. Even when some other tweets mentioned "waiting for her on the street".

Yesterday he reached a new level, first tweeting that he wanted to kill her, and that her life has no worth. Followed by an other tweet with a satellite view of Shinjuku where he drew what he says are the different paths she could use when leaving our office (we're delivery only, our office location is secret, customers are not supposed to know it). Now there's enough ammunition to involve police except... the girl is 20, still living at home, and is scared that police might talk to her parents is she asks for help.
So the only thing done was reporting that guy's account, and now it's been deleted. Which i think is stupid, because while he was online at least we were able to monitor what he was writing. I still have some screencaps of yesterday's creepy tweets.

There's a big possibility (at least i hope) that it's only words, and that he's fooling around just enjoying the attention. But i seriously consider buying a knife for that girl.

That's scary... I'd never want to downplay the situation as we have seen in the past ... words can turn into real action. The police as we have seen, in the past, have waited until it was too late to do anything...

I'm aware that some girls carry pepper spray because of problems with past clients. The girls would have to quit the shop and find a new one, hoping to not be found by the same client that they were trying to avoid. There's also some cases in the past of people hiring a private investigator to track and locate where some girls live..

I hope the shop and the girl are taking precautions even if the police aren't involved (but they should be). Be aware of your surrounds, try not to walk or travel alone and alternate your routes to be sure you're not being followed. (i.e don't go directly home, make a circle to assure someone unknown isn't following behind you..)

Hope everyone is safe.

Not to make light of @User#8628 's suggestion, but walking her around is a temporary measure at best. People get careless or go back to their old routines after a while and a persistent stalker will stick around.

Best thing would be carrying around pepper spray or other defensive tools (and know how to use them!) along with the varying routes.

Hopefully getting his twitter deleted scared him off, but if he starts up again then it's a sign he won't be shaken off so easily.

Wonder what people think of tracking him down with his phone number and confronting him ? Dangerous, but might be effective if he needs to hide his P4P activities

Unless she has proper training, dont do that please.

If she indeed has proper training, dont do that please.

Best advice ever. Seriously.

Many people think that carrying some tool for self defence is the solution. Carrying a knife might make you feel safer and more confident. If there is a real danger (as in this case it would seem) that's actually the worst thing you could feel. You should be scared, it keeps you alert.

I don't know many people who could use a knife for self defence even if their life was in danger. So most probably an encounter with an attacker will end up with him having the knife and being more pissed and crazy than he was in the beginning.

That and it's illegal in Japan to carry knifes so it could trouble her.
Pepperspray would be a better defense choice and staying alert like everyone says.

For the time being she stopped going to the office, she does stand-by in a cafe and when she has a customer one of us meet her in front of the hotel to bring her her play stuff.

I doubt he will try to book her under a new identity, from his tweets (he goes to an under 5000y DH in Machida) and details from his only booking at her shop (shortest course, super cheap hotel), he doesnt seem to have much money.

I don't follow that logic. If he is going to assault her, he probably isn't planning to pay her fee, so it doesn't matter what it is, does it? Maybe I am misunderstanding something.

If the police located and talked to him (I hope), it might well scare him off...or at least deter him from actually assaulting her...since he would obviously be the prime suspect if anything happens to her.

Ah, some good old fashion street justice? I wouldn't recommend it....but I wouldn't mind if it does happen, especially against creeps like him.

Not at all! I am the lazy one who half-assed wrote her post :)
Basically, unless it's a 3P, unknown customers who want to book her must pay by credit card beforehand, and can't chose the 40mn/1h courses. Most of her bookings are from repeaters anyway, but just in case...

I 100% agree with you on asking the police to check on him, but she's afraid they would involve her parents since she lives with them.

If thats the case couldnt she ask the cops to be discrete and not disclose her work to her family in their investigation? She really should get police involved as this guy is clearly very disturbed

Sounds like you know who this guy is, but I'm not sure.

Totally illegal and I'm not reccomending it, but if I ran an escort service, I think I would have a couple of big mean dudes on my speed dial.

Morally, I don't have a problem with paying a couple of mean dudes to whip the ass of another mean dude.

Legally, it could cause more trouble than it's worth.

This may or may not be any help at all but I was in a slightly similar (although far, far less extreme) situation in the past where someone was using a Twitter account to harass several of my subordinates. If you can get his personal information from the cell number your company might want to consider hiring a lawyer to threaten him with legal action if he continues with this. That, at least, would avoid the possibility of the police involving the girls parents.

There's a chance it could backfire and aggravate him more if he's really unhinged but in most cases guys who harass people online back off pretty quickly once some authority figure steps in or there's a possibility of real repercussions for them. You'll also have info on him that could stand up in court if the situation escalated further.

Ah, I see...thanks for explaining, and there is absolutely no need to apologize. It was my ignorance (of the shop's system) and assumptions (that everything was done in cash) which caused my misunderstanding.

And you did mention that before...my failure to read carefully, so I should be the one apologizing. But more importantly, it may come down to her having to choose between the risk of her parents finding out about her job and the risk of this guy hurting or killing her. It is so sad that sex work is stigmatized to the point that a young woman would have trouble making that choice.

I agree with this. Online bullies, stalkers and harassers are normally hiding on and using the net precisely because they are afraid of any real life consequences, but it is a gamble to assume that this is the case...so, going after him this way is a judgement call.

I would add that if there is any way of communicating with him, the shop's attorney or just the shop itself could inform him that the police are being contacted even if they actually aren't or haven't been yet.

Do not get her a knife - even if she is attacked, if she uses it, she will be charged with illegal weapons offenses.

Pepper spray and electrical stun guns are both highly effective and legal when used in self defense.

Maybe it isn't a man at all, but a woman sending all those crazy texts. It might even be my new student aka "serial killer" lol. Sorry to downplay a serious situation, but I wanted to point out how ridiculous people can be on this forum in response to some of my posts.

Anyway, hopefully the police deal with whoever the texter is soon.

And what if those big mean dudes accidentally kill the other big mean dude? Then you are responsible for murder as are the meatheads who did the killing lol.

Have you tried to contact Twitter ? (if there is a way to)
They might be able to threaten him by saying his IP addresses are logged and forwarded to competent authority. (even if not true)
I have no idea if it's possible to contact Twitter, but i did a google search regarding twitter death threats, and in a nutshell, it seems they don't give a shit.
So far he hasn't created a new account, but i keep checking twitter with the #words he was using.

@DocMcStuffins unlike "normal" DH, sm is quite a small world and should she join another shop, it would be very easy to find her. I have been able to track all my former coworkers (i am not a stalker, i just stumbled upon them because i like to check other well-known shops), and customers did too (they talk about girls' shop changes on 2ch).

Everyone seems to think that now that he doesn't tweet anymore, it's ok. They don't want to make a fuss out of it not to worry her, it's a bit annoying but it seems very "japanese". Tomorrow is my day off so i'll Line her to try to convince her to contact the police, even if it's only anonymously, for counselling.

In situations like this Twitter seems to be pretty useless - they'll take the account down if there's clear abuse occurring but beyond that they don't seem to be very motivated to do much unless its a really large PR fiasco or there's some kind of movement from law enforcement.

Unfortunately the police aren't much better - as others have noted in the thread they often don't act until its already too late. That's not to say its a bad idea to get in contact with them - if at all possible she really should let them know what's going on and file a report, if for no other reason than to start a paper trail that could be useful later.

If the guy hasn't made a new Twitter account and isn't continuing his harassment on other forums (2ch, etc) it might actually be a good sign. In most (keyword *most*) cases these guys will move on to something else after a week or so. Of course that doesn't mean its definitely blown over and there's nothing to worry about - there's still very good reason to make a police report and stay alert - but situations like this do often blow over when the person gets bored or finds some other person/thing to vent on.

That's why I said it could cause more trouble than it is worth.

But I do think if I was going to be a part of the underworld, I'd probably hand out ass whippings to any John that threatened any of my whores.

What is the point of being a pimp if you can't be a pimp?

I have a tendency to go on power trips.
