Is Japan moving towards open communism?

Government will assert more control on trading and prices for sure, but this is a trend that will hit Europe soon I reckon.

Free child care-education, BOJ is buying more stock of big companies, increased censorship, attacks on wealth....
There was an article in the Mainichi about taxing the higher floor residents of tower mansion more because of the unfairness of having a better view.
I have read a lot of small things that make me think the government will do something drastic after the Olympics.

Well... more in a socialist direction. A national socialist direction.

High fives, anyone?

What a horrible thing!

Abe is planning to use a portion of the sales tax increase to pay for it. So they are giving up on lowering the debt. It’s not great for two parents to work and have the government raise their children. Where is the joy in having a family?
The parents don’t have to pay money for it. They just give up control and access to their children.

Where is the joy in giving up your carreer to have a family?

Policy aside, wealth distribution is on a polarizing trend.

Regarding the debt issue, perhaps this an attempt to address the low birthrate now since it will potentially have huge economical consequences in the future? Or not, whatever. I'm no finance/economy guy!

I judge people by what they do not by what they say they will do. The J government has done zero to make having a large family any easier. If they were serious, the first thing they would attack is the concentration of the population into cities, the crowding and expense it entails and the disincentive to have kids. No matter where you go in the world, crowded cities are not good places to have kids. Solution one: incentivize companies to move their headquarters out of Tokyo and Osaka.
