Japanese randomly did high fives to me?

So my boss needed to step out to go run errands between my classes and I went to the shops area near the station to kill time.

Anyway, these Japanese ヤンキー style guys looked at me and were laughing and they kept saying ひどい but offered me a high five?

Is this a form of mocking or were they being friendly?

Because the only context I know for ひどい is terrible...

I was kind of standing on this corner with a hoodie and jacket over it, so I guess the nuance could have been that I look "hard or harsh" which is a vibe I try to avoid giving off lol.

Oh no I'm not mad at all. I'm just trying to understand the situation because it left me feeling really confused lol.

There is a chance they were talking about something or somebody else but to not be talking about me and then suddenly decided to high five me out of the blue lol.

I even said "Yes, I am ひどい" and high-fived them while laughing as they passed by.

So you walk into [Redacted], there is one staff member passed out with beer bottles all around him. There is what looks like a customer on the coach behind the curtain with needle in his arm and he is out of it too.

You walk down the hallway and find two bloodied escorts knocked out and one has a cigarette that is still lit perched between her fingers.

At the end of the hallway stands a shadowy figure in a hoodie that reads 18+ with a gun holstered on his side.
