Movies/Shows You Wish Were On Netflix

the whole p4p scene looks really violent and aggressive

A lot of the NYC scene - and not just p4p - in the 70s and 80s was basically violent and aggressive. There's a reason New York spawned hardcore.

Did somebody say Australia? :p
I guess my avatar & previous posts and did not give enough of a hint....It was the shitty internet clue which finally put the nail in the coffin wasn't it?

Anyway, back on the topic:
I've noticed Fargo and Stranger things are out on Netflix. I recommend stranger things if you liked E.T as a kid (...or an old man :ROFLMAO:) - it is a bit of a kiddie show but theres a lot of nostalgia and the plot isn't too bad, just a few supernatural themes etc.
Fargo also one of my favorites, even though I didn't enjoy the latest season as much(the brit got annoying). I recommend this if you like things with dark humor (Fargo movie, Coen brothers, Tarantino etc) and lots of violence.
Related to p4p: Season 3 had a very feisty, powerful female character in it who IIRC was also a sex worker. She didn't seem to take shit from guys easily. I found her strangely sexy, but I don't think that was intended for her character.

For both of these shows each season is unrelated to the last, so can be watched independently (anthology series is it called?)

Marvel TV - I've finished all of their Netflix series. Daredevil is good, and Season 3 is coming next year? I liked Jessica Jones and Luke Cage a lot. Iron Fist was kind of meh. Main character whined about as much as Luke Skywalker in A New Hope. The Defenders was, fair I guess. It didn't help that Iron Fist was a major piece of that.

Well, now when I actually think about it I also watched the Handmaid's Tale a while ago. It was odd enough and I don't really like to admit it but I found "the ceremony" strangely arousing.

OK, just finished the first episode of Silicon Valley and now, thanks to @TAG Manager, I am already hooked.

Yeah, sure it's a bit silly and childish at times but it still feels like home to me. And as the swallow on the blow job they put Green Day as the closing song so that seals it.

Oh Silicon Valley, how could I forget. Sometimes I think the characters on that show are written based on some of my real-life friends and co-workers haha. I also love Mike Judge's other work (office space, idiocracy) -they're humorous and have deeper meaning behind them.
For those who haven't seen, this is one of the most famous Silicon Valley scenes:

I really need to get caught up with all the Marvel stuff. Got sidetracked by binge watching GoT over the summer that I've missed like the last 1 or 2 seasons of Agents of Shield (lost track right around the LMD arc) Still only halfway thru Daredevil S1 and haven't even gotten to Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones or Defenders yet. :(

I haven't bought physical media in 7 years except for one show (Max Headroom) that I couldn't find on a streaming service.
Max Headroom yes! :) (had a major crush on Amanda Pays back in the day)

Old shows I wish they'd bring to streaming services

Sledge Hammer! (finally broke down and bought the DVDs)
Night Court
Parker Lewis Can't Lose

I remember making my mother stay up late just to record TJ. escort on VHS for me.

I am sure there are lot of kids in TAG that didn't understand a word what you just wrote there!

kids....on TAG?
These days I still use VHS player to watch my parents wedding video :meh: (useful when an oldie croaks and I try to remind myself who exactly they were -large family)

My pet peeve as a kid: something on TV I wanna record with VCR, but no more blank cassettes (didn't get pocket money ) . Then having to sacrifice another of my videos :(

Everyone under fifty is considered a kid.

Some years ago I actually dug up by accident one of my old educational movies. I wanted to see how it has survived the test of time, educationally I mean, so I popped out one of my VHS players.

And realised it was not working. Then I dug up another deck and realised it was not working either. For once I did the smart thing and dumped everything VHS related the next garbage day.

Another old series I wish was on Netflix - Friday the 13th and Nightmare on elm St both had short lived tv series.

Even if you used the EP function to get 6 hours into a 2 hour tape? ;)

I remember taping a show, then using the decks at work to edit out the commercials. Everyone was wondering where all our tape stock was disappearing to :sneaky::D

I wish they had monsters and tales from the darkside. Those were good also.

Night Court is available on iTunes. I have it. I don't know if it's best of or complete seasons but I watched it recently

Part of the reason I’ve fallen behind on all the Marvel stuff is that we got hooked on Terrace House. It’s addicting. ;)

I found a box of old VHS stuff in the oshiire last week, probably a hundred or so tapes. Nothing to play them on now... they too met with the trash heap.
