So I was watching this YouTube video , and I thought, what girls / ladies will do to support those hosts!

The girl in the video paying 10 millions for a bottle to celebrate her favorite host is on a totally different scale. What a world. The guy is doing pretty well considering his terrible childhood. Reverse cinderella here?

As far as i know not. I think there are also boysbars in Korea, and rich sugar mamas are also known to “sponsor” kpop talents.
As for the west, i think there are a few very expensive high end gigolos who cater to rich cougars mostly. But its not a market as easy to enter as host and nowhere as big.

Host clientele is made up of sexworkers (the younger girls) and rich carreer women or women with rich husbands (the older ladies).
I’m so tired of all the documentaries with the hosts just flashing their expensive stuff and bragging and acting like they get why they are by drinking alcohol and having slick conversation skills and good look.
There is so much pushing going on and girls working so hard to get the guy they are rooting for where is. I feel like the efforts of the girls are constantly ignored to make it look more glamorous.

I’ve always wanted to go to a host club but never have.
Partially because my Japanese just isn’t good enough, if 90% of the experience is cute guys saying nice things to you then I’m missing out because I’d only be catching every 10th word.

They likely already had a lot of charisma and were born into fairly wealthy families so could wear fashionable clothes and have their hair done at a salon. I don't really buy the sob stories about hardships growing up it's probably a character they created to convince women they are supporting them. A lot of hosts look like the kinds of guys who are sleeping with the hottest model types they can find and never committing to dating them while leading them on because they can. They are good at getting women to eat out their hands. Still, I guess it's a much harder thing to pull off than the other way around because most guys just need the idea implanted in their head that an attractive young girl might have sex with them and they'll do absolutely anything lol. I think it takes more than the idea of sex for women and convincing them that they have a chance of all their fantasies of marriage,romance and love coming true while never letting them get that close is pretty crazy.

This reminds me of a documentary I saw on Japanese television where this middle aged doctor would just blow wads of cash on host clubs in a single night. Asked why she does it and she says it just feels good being the center of attention and being worshipped by all the hosts in the club. She spent a whooping 2.8M yen that night. I'm actually really surprised girls would go as far as to work in mizushoubai to support these hosts. Who am I to judge them though.

Yes and no. There are a lot of poor boys who come here from the countryside with nothing but the clothes on their back and work host. But its true that the top hosts are often from weathly families. There are basically two or three types of hosts. The type thats not popular because they are either not handsome or confident and they earn like 100.000 yen a month and live in dormitories with each other and help the big boys by drinking with their girls when they have to talk to other girls (guys who go to places like sekukyaba will be familiar with the “help” system). Then there are some guys inbetween i guess who have a number and some girls to support them but who aren’t that big and then there are the high ballers who get the interviews and the documentaries and all the fame.
Honestly the popular ones annoy the shit out of me. One of them bragged to me about how he never sleeps with girls but how a girl spend like 200万 in one time on him. Get lost. Not putting out is not something to be proud of.

I dunno it depends on the director, because if it is one of those moralistic Hollywood movies with "Good western values" then they're going to kill off any Female or Queer character and have the male leads duke it out in a macho-off until only one is alive and he'll be the one to epically mourn his loss by making things explode a lot.

Then he'll learn that money and crime never pays and sail off into the sunset on a boat of cash that won't really make him happy, but will supply him with enough alcohol and other escorts to forget how sad he is that he lost his one true love.
