First of all thanks for sharing your experiences. I learned a lot from it so sharing my exp below.

I used Paters for 2 months early this year. After I saw an ad in the instagram, I decided to try this application.
I met about 8 girls, out of which one of them was really hot and better than the picture. I believe definition of hot girl varies after living few years in Tokyo. Just so you can understand what kind of girl was that. We met for adults for 40000YEN but she was boring, and showing no interest and constantly spending time on her mobile. I started using SD.jp seriously in July this year. Met two keepers. One was willing to complete the date on the second meeting. I have seen her three times now, and may continue to do so.

Another keeper was willing to complete the date on the first meeting. She said it was the first time she actually did this. Usually it is from the second date onward. I have seen her three times, two overnight. She's out of the country currently. I'm hoping to see her when she's back, although I am not betting on that.

I beg to differ on your Paters assessment. Unlike SD.jp, you can openly discuss all sorts of things without getting banned. The first thing that all of the women ask about is the conditions or terms. Most of them will say what they are interested in doing and say how much in their own message. If you state your conditions, they will either agree or refuse it right away. If you ask them to meet on a first date for free, they all reject such offers. I’ve never had one that offered adults as a condition to later refuse. That’s not as far from my experience as I meant.
I tried to use it a bit because I heard the big money rumors but the way of getting in contact with people from the girl’s side is more difficult than on other apps, and I only got social time offers that were too low for my liking. I don’t mind what I do with my time but the amount of money must be enough for me to justify clearing my schedule and going out. (Basically to me I hardly prefer a social date over a private date.)

My personal experience:

Girls who want to meet up and go directly to the love hotel are usually boring, clinical, and clearly just trying to make quick money. I have tried this a few times and never had a good experience. If I just want to fuck, an escort is a better option since I can read reviews and figure out what I am getting in advance.

Girls who agree to a dinner or cafe date first tend to have really great personalities. Together with the tension that builds up over the course of the date, it makes the sex many times better. Also, it feels more like "real" dating, and it's excellent value for money since escorts charge a lot for non-sexual time and SBs usually don't.

This is not meant as personal criticism, but you are clearly thinking about this from a sex worker's POV: if you don't get paid for every hour it's a waste of time; why make 5 man a night when you could make 10 or 15?

But I think for many "amateurs" this kind of logic is actually distasteful. Many of the women on sugaring sites don't see themselves as sex workers, and don't want to be sex workers. My experience was different. I had zero problems find a girl with little to no spoken Japanese. In fact I had issues picking the girl I wanted. Every single girl wanted more dates. I think your issue was more about personality and approach.

As for the looks and processed photos no matter what site or app you use they will be processed. Japanese women love filters and really don't like showing unfiltered pictures period.

IMO, nobody is paying 50 man a month for one woman who is not their wife, unless they are a company president or celebrity type making enough money to essentially have their pick of tight-bodied college students. Which means you need to be a competitive tight-bodied college student in order to make that much.

I think most of the steady SBs are getting more like 15-25 man a month, which is more realistically in the budget of upper middle class men (company managers, lawyers, accountants, etc.) and is roughly equivalent to the cost of doing P4P every week.
