Would just like to know what people think of performing oral on escorts or girls working in pink salons/delivery health/soaplands. Have you done it or do you avoid it all together?

I have never contracted anything. So, if you want anecdotal evidence, put that data into the hopper.

If you want a more rigorous assessment, there is plenty of information available online from reputable medical sources (e.g., the US Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization). As Wwanderer says, it's an extremely low-risk activity. I would also add that women tend to exhibit visible STD symptoms far more than men do, so it should be immediately obvious when you get up close whether or not you should go for it. Like food, if it looks good and smells good, it's probably safe to eat.

Of course, this isn't a fail safe rule with viruses like HPV and herpes simplex, which can be symptomless and are spread by skin-to-skin contact, but these are viruses that can be spread even when wearing a condom, and so a risk you have to take as a sexually active adult.

For me, deli health, fashion health, or soapland is fine, but pink salons give me pause.

Maybe irrational fear, but as a health or soapland girl has maybe 6-8 clients a day, and showers before and after spending time with each client, a pink salon girl may have over twenty clients and can't really clean herself well between sessions.

I`m thinking of doing it with a dental dam - cut up a condom and put it over the area, Not as much fun but it gives me more peace of mind. I think DATY on a woman is higher risk than receivng a BJ. Some of the STDs of course show no visible symptoms. Just my opinion from what I`ve read.

I believe it is really personal choice. As @kittyotodoke mentioned "..if it looks good and smells good..." Pretty much the same thing what my Dermatologist said. He also added that I do not necessary need to go and get a blood test of all known STDs when I get out of PNG. He said, if it does not hurt when I pee, very unlikely to have any STD. I would recommend against it for several reasons:

1. YOU are the PAYING customer.

It's not like this is your girlfriend. She is doing you a service that you are paying for. So she should be giving you oral, the other way around isn't needed.

2. You are exposing yourself to an increased STD risk.

For women giving BJs to men, they can more easily spot if something is wrong. Warts, cuts, bumps, etc... on your penis.

However, the vagina is mostly internal. It's much more difficult for a guy to spot if a woman has something wrong.

3. Is she drinking your cum?

Many professional service women don't drink sperm, so why should you be drinking her fluids, which might possibly be infected with something?

If this is a sugarbaby situation, I can see a guy handling that more intimately. With a sugarbaby, the guy might be seeing her regularly and sexual encounters might be very long sessions.

Sorry bro, but I think this is unrealistic PC advice. Nobody I have ever talked to has used a dental dam.

Most people are either going to take the leap of trust and do it, or not trust the person and not do it.

And the thought of turning sex into a hospital-like procedure often turns many people off, not on.

Fair points, definitely. I'm bisexual, and while I've never been with a provider, I certainly wouldn't go down on her if I knew she was high volume and was lax about protection. To add my two cents about risk, several months ago I got a mono-nucleosis. The one you catch one time in your life, and knocks you down for weeks.

I believe (though I have not tangible/definite proof and won't seek for any) that it was because of my performing a cunilingus with a provider. The timing of events fits perfectly, and I assessed every other possible known option, which are even more unlikely by a huge factor.

This had a huge impact in my personal life, because this is something you're supposed to catch at a younger age and a very different setting in your love life. I got suspiscions around me like never before, which was a challenging experience.

Before that I was conscient of the risk, already took the time to consider whether going for cunnilingus with my partners (considering their high volume/hygiene behaviour), but even so.

Unless I am mistaken (quite possible), mononucleosis is easily transmitted by kissing...which is the reason it is so common in adolescence just starting to experiment with physical love, typically in high school or junior high school. Your strong belief that you caught it via cunnilingus suggests that you did not kiss that escort/provider or any others you saw around the same time, or at least not very much. If so, would you suggest that kissing is too dangerous an activity to practice in commercial sex encounters? I don't believe I have ever heard that suggested before.

Nevertheless, I do suspect that the diseases most often transmitted in p4p are not STDs at all but many other sorts of infectious diseases, from common colds to influenza to TB and worse. And, of course, condoms do nothing to protect one from health risks of those sorts.
