I also like the idea of small badges. Encourages people to participate and badges are fun in a lot of other communities. Girls advertising on the forum could also have their own badge.
Probably too much work to implement just for the fun of it, but if it happens one day, I would volunteer to do the graphics. Do a proper set in consistent style, readable in small resolution on white and dark BG.
