Sexting&sending Nudes

Perhaps your problem is that you have not had a career to defend yet. Until you have to do that, you probably can't understand the ramifications. Many have come to understand the perils of having there reputations dinted or destroyed over pictures, which includes celebs and high ranking officials.
I have a carreer, sweetheart. This is my carreer.

In theory, seeing someone naked should not be a big deal. In reality, in our present day world, it is something that can lose you respect and your career.

I'm not saying I agree with this but it's pretty naïve to pretend otherwise. Nudity is intrinsically linked to sex and power, both of which can bring out strange things in people.

To be clear, I did not mean to suggest that anyone should ignore the social reality that nudity is seen as scandalous by many people but only to say how strange and unreasonable this fact seems to me.

There's only one guy to whom i send dirty pictures/videos, because i am absolutely, 100% sure he will never leak them, as he would ruin himself in the process too.

I hope you are aware that it is possible, easy in fact, to post and otherwise leak photos and videos anonymously.

Right, but not the type that would lead you to ruination. Look at Heidi Fleiss, she's still going strong, but Anthony Weiner, ruined. Again, your career is way different from others. Then again, could you go up to all your friends and say, "I am am an escort." Then start sexting your male friends. How long before you are like Anthony Weiner and others? Even Heidi Fleiss was under the radar even while taking care of Charley Sheen who was not under the radar and very open about his lifestyle. Wealth and fame can afford you some slack, but every day Joe and Joline types are not afforded such slack and would be villified in the news. Happens all the time.

Without the celebrity, the consequences can be very volatile forca long time. So I always say, protect your image.

Of course sexting, doesn't have to be fully nude, nor all that provacative. So how are we defining sexting? Could be texts with sexual content, and no image.

Le's ask this, what if you decided to leave the work you do now and got a job at a fortune 500 company and one day your past career was discovered. Just like sexting, corporate culture and social mores would kick in. What do you think happens? I think it would be naive to think such would be brushed under the rug. I think it would be very naive to think that you are protecting yourself from the back door voting that takes place in a corporate world.

At present, you are your own boss. You are in Japan. If exposed nobody would remember and all would be forgotten. No harm to you in the long run. But where I come from, they have employees whose only job is to dig up dirt on you. And certainly they can dig. But rightfully so. I bet many have lost good careers over sexting and other stuff. Maybe someday showing some skin and other stuff will be overlooked, but at present if your private affairs are put out in the public, nothing good will cone of it.

Times are changing. I believe we are in a transitional phase, something of a razor's edge. With the prevalence of so-called smart phones/computers it's easy to do what once took an embarrassing trip to the shop to be developed. I foresee a future when it's no big deal.

Well, it's not just the ease of use, but also as some people have intimated the ease of abuse. Before when you developed your own film or took it to the shop and the worst that would happen is they'd keep a copy for themselves, nowadays there's so many problems with security and people's relationship to it that people can think that everything they are doing is private but it either isn't private at all or is easily exploited. The "Fappening" is the most obvious example of this (which was a social engineering job, not a hack), but Snapchat and other apps have/have had 'plugins' that intercept your private data and send it elsewhere, lots of Android apps (and some of the Android stores!) are privacy horror shows, and even lots of iPhone apps ask for way more data than they really need, and won't function until you give the app the access.

It's all pretty scary stuff, in terms of who has your data and how its gathered. The more I learn about the stuff, the more fatalistic I become about it. To use the internet at all for the most part you pretty much are risking any of your data and your behavioral information no matter how safe you behave.

Before in Japan the photo shop would not give you the photos they considered improper. No need to wonder if they went through your pics, hell yes they did! I fell victim to this once when I found a roll of film which I had totally forgotten and took it to a shop. Out of a 36 frame film I received like 8 pics and when I went through them I remembered when it was taken. The shop happily took the remaining 28 and never gave them to me. Normally I would have developed that roll myself if I just remembered what was in it! :(

And yes, nowadays you can try to hide away in net but it really is the Big Brother era that's upon us. And as pretty much everything is stored somewhere already it is like the doping tests of the previous olympics; one day when they develop better ways for data mining that stuff is going to come back and bite you in the ass. My only comfort is I'm so old I'll be dead already and so nobody cares. ;)

Oh, it was not in that sense! He also regularly sends me dirty material, and he's famous. If i were to get back at him for leaking my pics by leaking his or showing his girlfriend the sex mails he sent me, he would have WAY more to lose than me.
As for the hacking problem mentioned by @User#16452 , he deletes everything (even sex mails) "after use" since his girlfriend regularly checks his mail and phone.

It's still possible to recover them after deletion, both from the email account and from your hard drive or phone.

Or intercept them on the net en route to him.

That said, nothing in life is perfectly safe, and imo you (@vck_js) are taking readonable precautions given the level and nature of the risks involved.

Finally, anything explicit doesn't include my face. That way, I have some plausible deniability.

You might be surprised at how easy it can be to recognize someone from general body shape or particular details like arms or knees.

Also there are women who have build their carreer on leaked sextapes, like Paris Hilton and Kim K.

OK and for each of them theres a thousand or so at least who have had their lives damaged by leaked images or videos.

I used to take photographs with a 60s rangefinder dealie I had restored... I must have captured some of the most poignant photos on that old thing...

I never understood why the developers felt the authority to withhold certain photos. Where's that picture I took of the girl in a side alley? Those bedroom shots? Or those that were intentionally out of focus? Fuck off!
