Background:
- I did put good photos all taken by my past girlfriend (girl taste!)
- I did write a profile in Japanese (because fluent in Japanese)
- I'm 47 and female friends always tell me that I look 35 and that I must be a player (motesou dakara (if only it was true))
- I wrote that I'm not looking for marriage (honesty sucks, I know)
- I filtered out smokers and girls who don't want to meet as soon as possible (nice feature btw)

Result after 2~3 weeks:
- none of the girls I liked (maybe 40 girls) liked me back, so no match at all from them
- got liked by the ugliest women or by women not showing face (obviously ugly ones)
- 3 not too bad girls liked me out of nowhere
- within these 3, one is trying to make me wait for some reason (even blatantly ignoring questions), one is busy during the GW and will meet with me once it's over. I met the last one, a single mother, who I have sex with. Short, slim, big boobs and OK with anal. The problem is that she isn't very talkative which is already becoming boring. I suspect she is only here for the sex.

That's it.

Conclusion:
Kind of expensive and about the same quality as JapanCupid (which gave me the same results).

The fact that a girl doesn't have a picture does not necessary mean that she is ugly. It may be that she is kind of new to online dating and she is scared to have her picture online.

For my experience, it is worth to give a chance.

Interesting results, somewhat disappointing but I I guess that's just the way it is no matter the dating apps.

So how does Pairs compare to Tinder in your opinion or other western apps? or Japanese girls tend to go for the local apps?

Just curious : what size are her boobs?

Tinder in Japan is full of scammers. tourists, professional escorts and young ladies doing the sugar daddy thing (papakatsu).
No such profiles on Pairs which is more about serious relationships where marriage is sought.
Similar to JapanCupid but I've managed to find more not so serious girls on JapanCupid. And very young ones (20~22) actually.

Yes, I met some serious hotties, in Tokyo, who didn’t post their pics.

Hi there!

I wonder wich plan did you pay?
I signed up yesterday to PAIRS, got around 6 ii ne, and some messages that i cant see, so i am seriously thinking on pay for the 6 month plan, or sum like that.
I did some research, and found this guy on this same forum that posted like a couple of years ago:

"Sorry for raising a dead thread but I have a question about this APP, I recently bought the three month premium service, but unfortunately even though I can send messages and "ii ne's" when I get a response, the message is blocked and the App wants me to pay MORE money to unlock it. Is this normal? If it is, How do I get a refund? Not interested in a scam company. . .of course if I can't get one I'll just have to charge back. I'd rather not have to do that."

Is this happening still?
I won´t buy the plan if i have to keep paying to have a normal chat with a woman... :S

oh, and I am wondering if its free for women? If its paid for them too, I wondering how much feedback could i get if I use the paid plan...
I readed somewhere that OMIAI its free for women, but dunno about PAIRS.

I took the cheapest plan (one month I believe), and could send/read messages from anyone.
The girls who replied could read my messages, obviously.
After you've used all your points you have to recharge, independently of your plan, which is kind of excessive IMHO.

Thanks for your reply!

As far as i understand, with the points you can get more ii ne's to give, and other kind of useless things.
Maybe i should try one month...

Maybe i should try one month...

For every paid dating app I use, I always choose a one month plan.
If you can't find someone within a month either you're doing something wrong (not being active enough) or the site/app sucks.
So basically, only one month and I eventually do it again a couple of months later when there are enough of new profiles to tap into.

That's why SA only does one month at a time. If you can't find someone, you're not active enough or you're not putting in any effort.

majimekun, thanks for the advice, i already signed up for one month, and its going smoothly. Looks promising!
fun fact: i dont live in Japan, but in Denmark (been there last year, and planning to go some days this year too), so yes, I am looking for a serious international relationship.

Well, maybe I have more experience than you concerning this because when I ask for photos privately on other dating sites/apps it never fails : all of them are ugly.

That is my experience too after 10 years of dating.

Women without picture are either 1) ugly or 2) cheating on their boyfriend/husband.

Omiai and Pairs are for serious relationships leading to marriage. If someone reports your profile you can get permanently banned from the app and your passport/gaijin card will be blacklisted. Usually you get a yellow card first. So you might want to change your profile and not piss someone off. I'm permanently banned from Omiai for this reason. I paid 3month membership for nothing.

Waste of time. If you think a jwomen is going to stay faithful when you're at the other side of the world you're in for a surprise..

So you are saying it's still 50-50 you hit gold with a profile with no pic? :D
