Nothing is guaranteed. That's why people call it punting. Play with an amount you're comfortable losing and stick to reputable providers/shops so the odds are in your favour.

Also the running away after receiving money thing seems to only happen with amateurish girls from compensated/sugar dating sites or apps.

You need to lose that mindset - you’re not being promised anything, other than the potential for a good session. Nothing is being taken from you, and more importantly you are not entitled to anything.

Remember that you’re engaging with a human being, not a semen extraction machine. Between two human beings, there is no guarantee of a positive interaction. The financial incentive makes it more likely, but guarantees nothing. You also need to put in some effort - be well groomed, recently bathed, trim your finger and toenails, and be both polite and nice to the provider.

Even then, remember that a consummate (and adorable) professional like Manami has had a couple of less than stellar reviews. People don't always click, and that's just the way the world works.

You can hedge your bets by booking shorter sessions for your first time with a provider, and if it works out, you can book longer ones later. If it doesn’t work out, you’ve saved some of your budget to try again with someone else.

Also in some reviews she doesn't seem to initiate a 2nd round even when there's plenty of time left. My Japanese is almost nonexistent so I have to think of a polite but fun way to go about that.

Go with someone reputable and it won’t happen. Imagine how embarrassing it would be for us TAG indies it guys started to complain we ran off with their money..
one complaint might be he said/she said, but this is something you can’t keep doing while advertising somewhere reputable.
Same goes with shops, you’re either in a room together or the girl will be picked up (except for some exceptions like AM, but they seem pretty customer friendly and trustworthy). The girl can’t really cut the time short without questions from the shop and girls would not feel inclined to try. If you read the reviews you see this doesn’t really happen, unless you go off the beaten path (like amateurs or travelers on less reputable sites).
Of course you could run into a very passive provider. But the thing is that providers won’t know if you are a one pop guy or not. So you should really initiate the second round yourself. Try to prepare some Japanese sentences asking for it, or try to initiate sexual touching after you feel like you have recovered enough.

Yes, something like "you were just so charming that I want to do it again. Can we do it now?" It has to sound like a compliment but also sound urgent so it's not mistaken as just banter. Preparing Japanese is pretty hard, I also thought there would be more European women with services in Tokyo just due to how absurdly popular it is. Part of my gameplan before the trip was also to see if there are non-Japanese escorts here. I saw a few western women listed as available that did JAVs but they seem to have their hands full at the moment.

I never mention it....if you enter a love hotel alone it is kinda implied that the girl will come after you. They always have towels for 2 persons. Only thing that happened to me a few times was that the person behind the counter asked me to make sure that only one girl will come to my room. Some hotels don't allow 3P, others have an additional charge so they want to make sure that you play by the rules.
