I'm using Tinder and Skout quite often and I feel they are getting saturated with these annoying girls who just want to chat for the sole purpose of improving their freaking English.

Why don't the dating apps get rid of them? It's not dating so they are just stupid parasites.

Are they really guys who waste their time with those selfish bitches?

That's an assumption on your part and may or may not be true. There can be many motives for penpals and this also doesn't have to be with someone abroad necessarily. However I don't see the point here, even if the intention was to one day meet in person. Although it's not impossible in most cases this is not intended to lead to any sort of relationship.

The benefit could be that one enjoys chatting, that you share a common interest, that you want to learn something about Japanese culture etc. . If you contact them with the sole purpose of finding a sex partner, then most likely there will be no benefit.

I don't know what you're trying to imply there but here are two facts for you :

1. I don't do P4P so it's never about money or sexual purpose.

2. I give all the affection I can to my girlfriends. Enjoyable? Well, there must be a reason why my current girlfriend happily endured a 2 hours train trip twice today just to be with me.

A lot of them don't advertise their real motive on their profile.

So, basically, you end up wasting your time for someone who just want to practice English even when you, on the other side, clearly stipulates that you're looking for a girlfriend and that you don't want to chat in English.

Whenever I find myself helping some non-native English speaker improve their level a bit, I am struck by how incredibly lucky it is to have English, the totally dominant "international language", as your first language. For those who want to travel the world but who don't speak English or don't speak it well, there is a huge barrier that requires much effort to overcome which we native speakers never even notice.

Not exactly the same thing but similar - It is routine to see SB profiles on SA in which the text indicates that she is interested only in a platonic relationship, strictly non-sexual, and/or that lists very expensive levels of "support". I don't get the whole online meeting thing, I just can't bring myself to do it.

I've recently been taking some training classes where there happen to be a younger mix of people and I find more success in making friends in person in those types of situations. (on top of that, I'm definitely more of an introvert...) Recently, I started chatting up this college girl, typical, cute petite college type. Has zero English ability and has no desire to learn. We've been chatting on LINE in Japanese (even with my broken, crappy, utterly unintelligible written [typed] Japanese, we seem to communicate.)

We're going out to dinner on Sunday after our training is done for the day.

She's gotta be ~15 years younger than me though, lol.... and no idea what she really expects.
