Guys, Is it polite to tip an Escort or a girl in Soapland (without knowledge of the Soapland managing guys)?

I came across a Thai Health delivery, seems the rates are quite low, probably the girl doesn't make much. So, I would like to tip the girl. But, is it considered polite?

Just leaving a comment here because I'm interested in peoples' thoughts about this.
I know in most other industries, tipping isn't done in Japan. But dunno about p4p.

Its uncommon but its not “rude” like some people think or unappreciated.
I personally started to tip when getting pizza delivery or a massage and some of those boys almost jump in the air! I know i’m bothering them in the late evening and their salary is not great and they must be tired, so i like to give them something extra to show my appreciation if they did well.
Its a bit difficult to tip in some restaurants here since it almost feels like trying to tip in a supermarket (not possible) or something. With taxi drivers I sometimes tell them that they don’t have to give me change, especially if they seem disappointed its only a short ride. But they are so fast and competent in giving change I don’t always manage to do that.

I think tipping in p4p is more normal than in other industries here and i know there are Japanese guys who do it and not just to get extra services.

Those Thai girls definitely make less than other SW and are very happy to get tips, recently there was a review of a guy who “conveniently” couldn’t get his change back from a girl. Coincidence or not?

But i also think Japanese girls are very happy with it. Basically if you’re not a power tripping dick about it, its usually appreciated. And some pinksalon or health may have a no tipping policy because the staff wants to make sure no extra services are given on the premises. But with soapland it doesn’t even matter if the male staff finds out, unless they think the girl tricked you into paying extra, they should be cool with it.

In my experience only one girl has refused a tip. She was just being nice and wasn't upset. All others have appreciated it

TBH I had never tipped escorts but I don't go for the inexpensive services either. The Chinese / Thai ones I just feel like they are being forced to work there given the low prices, while I haven't tried the Korean ones so I can't say.

I think I have never paid less than 1000 yen. I just prepare in advance the 1000 yen bill and put it on the box and say no change needed. Over that amount I think I might round up or just pay the exact fare. I even feel like the extra 200 yen something that you would pay if you call for a taxi by phone is kinda low (more like 400/500 yen is reasonable). I am getting way off topic here so I am gonna stop lol.

What about tipping before the session (expecting her to provide a great service)? I know it's kinda cringy question

Depending on the circumstances, tipping might sometimes be translated into paying extra for FS/off-menu options/extensions, and thus result in a refusal/upsell...especially when there is a significant language barrier.

Happened to me once, when I was trying to tip an exceptionally nice girl simply out of gratitude; to my surprise, her reaction was to give me a counter offer of AF for double the amount of the intended tip...:shifty: And to my even bigger surprise, when she said AF, she really meant AF...:shifty:

Lost in translation for sure! But the real question is, did you tip and did you try AF? :p

Pardon my ignorance what is AF ?

lol

Just after the girl arrives, I hand money over to her (include the tip of extra 5k if below 25k, (usually my tip is around 20%). Except for a Japanese woman, every other woman just took the money without telling I had put an extra money over there... Did they just assume it to be a tip or they deliberately took it thinking I got fooled???

And moreover what does it matter if you just put that money there deliberately yourself?

Sigh.. Most of the time I meet very kind and respectful people however a similar incident happened to me at the beginning. New girls can attract the wrong people. The client wasn’t sure if he would go for 1 hour or 1.5 hours, so when I saw the equivalent amount for my 1.5 hrs rate I just assumed he opted for the latter.
The next thing I get is indirectly rude comments about my personality, and sarcasm.
Just because a client is using someone’s escorting services doesn’t mean the escort has to put up with such unpleasant attitudes. Please gentlemen, don’t use “money” as a way to play power games or “test” your escort. Nowadays I have learned my lesson and whenever I get a tip I discreetly confirm the amount with my client..

Yeah, I thought they would acknowledge it, but almost everyone just clutched it down inside the clutch bag without saying anything.

This wouldn't have been a question if it was a different country. But it's Japan, tips are quite a new to people.
Everytime, I refuse to collect those coins from Konbini (coz it's a mess and those coins don't fit in my wallet and become a pain in the ass, yeah that's where I keep my wallet), the person refuses to take it and insists me to take. One day I just walked out assuming the person accepted the coins as a tip, but later I realised it was a miscommunication after he came running out of the shop to hand it over to me.

Perhaps it would be less painful if you put the wallet in your back pocket instead. ..

Or use any form of electrical payments like civilised persons nowadays do.

Since I've had SUICA on my iPhone, I don't use cash that much on a daily basis.

Morning Coffee > SUICA
Konbini > SUICA
Lunch > SUICA/Cash (Varies a lot depending on where I am)
Vending Machines > I pick the ones that have a SUICA function.
Taxis/Buses/Trains > SUICA

Of course, iPhone SUICA is charged online... so no cash there either.

I probably use the most cash when eating out for dinner or shopping for groceries.
Bigger dinners or nights out, credit cards/cash.

As far as the original subject goes -- I don't tip in Japan, it's just not the norm.
Don't give others pressure to accept what you think is right or because you're, well, lazy.

By ass, I actually meant my back pocket! lol... You just literally assumed the actual meaning.
