Too Old to Live in Shibuya?

Ummm...as far as I know, not so many people were successfully settled to live there as all-year-round residents, and those who "survived the initiation" are often have some experience of living abroad. I find them rather interesting.
Like Bill Gates? Although he is definitely not an "all-year-round" resident....

Too many foreigners who came here to steal away our log houses.

The people who live there?
Yep, four execs from my old company live there, can confirm that those 4 alone are enough to taint the place.

It was originally a place for foreign expats' summer retreat. John Lennon spent several summers at Manpei in the 70s...but yes it's inevitable that Chinese is to be spoken more often there, too, sooner or later.

...and those two make hearing Chinese spoken there a relief.

Maybe it's a bit far, but after reading this post I am considering leaving Shinagawa and moving to Akita. What better place to live than surrounded by beautiful girls? ;) https://soranews24.com/2020/03/26/where-are-all-the-beautiful-women-in-japan-survey-investigates/

I'm very sorry but in my less than humble opinion that list is utter horseshit. AOMORI and OSAKA are on the top ten list? Granted, I've never stepped off the train in Akita and have heard references to the fair skinned women, but unless there's some sort of seismic shift between the genetics there and in neighboring Aomori I think I'd rather start fucking guys than the girls in that town. Aomori has, hands down, the homeliest women I've never come across in Japan. The two days I spent there were probably the only two days in memory where I had no desire to masturbate.

And Osaka??? I suppose some of the girls are cute, if by "cute" you mean semi-retarded with empty eyes, blank stares and gaping mouths that utter only the dumbest shit you've ever heard Japanese females utter, and that's saying quite a bit. I think every expat in Japan should come down to Osaka and spend a couple of nights hanging out near the popular izakaya spots in a local shotengai in, say, Neyagawa, or Tennoji or Sakai, particularly after 11pm, watching the tribes of intoxicated Osakan bimbos come staggering out of the bars, dressed like it's fucking Halloween, shrieking all sorts of incomprehensible nonsense while they totter over to their bicycles and stand around chain-smoking cigarettes, spitting, projectile vomiting on the sidewalk, squatting to piss in the gutters and laughing like chimpanzees the entire time. I promise you'll never look at your girlfriends or wives and think them classless again.

But Fukuoka, I absolutely agree. Hottest girls in Japan. Gorgeous facial structures and the kind of sharp, darker features you sometimes see in Okinawan girls but minus the unibrows, mustaches and nipple hair. Plus they love when men treat them like shit. Matches made in heaven.

What's wrong with you guys? Who gives a toss which pref has the hottest chicks.
Everywhere I go in Japan there is AHC (another hot chick) around each corner.

In Miyazaki's ichibangai in fall I was drooling. The staff at my hotel in Tsuruga were hot. The girls at the kyaba in Toyama were hot.

You gotta admit the doable ration in Japan is through the roof.

I agree with @Keihan that

But not for his reasons, but because they are all hot.

I'd be willing to give Fukuoka a chance. The girls I've met who were from there were really hot and fun. One of these girls was a model, she had fascinating eyes and endless statuesque legs.

I agree with all about Fukuoka. Also the city has a very European vibe on it so I guess it would be kind of easy to live in.

Though they also do have the worst records of rape and other violent crime for all of Japan.

But most I agree with @Rusty Trombone; the ratio of good looking women in Japan is just way higher than in any other country I have visited. And on top of that there is so much girls it would be hard to find a place where you wouldn't see a good looking girl in the first five minutes.

Maybe I'm super picky but I'm at 10% on girls walking down the street in any place I've been on the planet. Japanese girls are tough for me because "summer teeth" aren't really a turn on.

Take a trip down there. Ride from Kokura, to Hakata, to Kumamoto and to Kagoshima and Miyazaki if you have the time. It's quite obvious the bloodlines are different in Kyushu. Especially once you're outside the city, the boys are quite different from mainland boys. Bigger, more muscular, darker featured...basically, not the kind of fucking pussies you see out on Friday night in Kanto/Kansai, skinnier than their girlfriends with feathered haircuts and jeans most adolescent girls can't squeeze into. Kyushu is the only place I've seen Japanese males that I'd actually be afraid to get into a barfight with. And the girls, fuck me, they are beautiful. Dark eyes, slender faces, sharper chins and noses, and they still behave like proper Japanese women. And the best part, like Okinawans, the genetics down there trend toward alcoholism so people can handle their liquor. Even on a Friday night at Fukuoka Station, you don't see puke puddles all over the place like you would at Osaka Station.

And they've got the best miso dashi in Japan. It's actually worth the trip just for ramen, kurobuta sausage and some fine Satsuma imo on the rocks. And the best part about northern Kyushu is that the local yak gangs are so notoriously violent, I'm instinctively on my best behavior all the time no matter how drunk I get, unlike when I'm in Tokyo or Osaka. Nice to wake up in the morning in your actual hotel bed and without any bruises or weird shit in Family Mart bags.

i get the feeling you’ve put a lot of time and thought into which prefecture’s boys you’d like to have a tussle with.

Sure have, that that would be the effeminate, cheery young pussies of Sendai, with their clear eyes, bright white teeth and small waists. That's if I HAD to, mind you. I'd prefer living out a NH Pornhub fantasy in 2-Chome after 12 beers and a Red Bull. And I most certainly wouldn't want any sort of romp whatsoever with some 95kg rugby player from Kumamoto and for the same reason I don't try to date women in the Marine Corps. Perhaps it speaks to insecurity issues but I'd strongly prefer that the person I'm inserting my cock into not be able to turn around and beat my ass.

I have a buddy who is 42, reached a high point in his career and is able to transfer to his company's Tokyo office now. He's fluent/making alot of money and is interested in some of the new apartment buildings right by Shibuya station.

The places are no doubt spacious and luxurious but idk....is 42 too old to live in Shibuya? I suggested Aoyama to him cause he can afford it or even Omotesando but he's been here many times and enjoys all that's happening in Shibuya and wants to live right in the heart of the neighborhood.

So 1. Is there a certain age where living in Shibuya is goofy or does having a super nice apartment override that?
2. If you were rich and 40+, what's the most prestigious neighborhood to live in? Aoyama? Shinjuku high rise? Daikanyama?
goofy for whom ? It depends on his mindset not on the common opinion about the area. if he likes shibuya then he's not too old to live there.
if I could afford any place I would decide based on what's more convenient for me not on what's more prestigious but to each his own truth and his own parameters.
