A dancer friend of mine mentioned something to me about a place that has male strippers one night per week. She knows one or more of the dancers. I'll ask her for some details and post the info here if I have the story right.

When my husband and I visited Japan for the first time last year, we were actually quite surprised to the lack of establishments catering to couples play. We wanted to experience some nuru play together at a soapland establishment but we came to find out after doing some research on TAG that they do not service couples or even girls. We were kinda disappointed but that didn’t stop us from finding other ways to have some adult fun with some very special ladies. ;)

Exactly.

I succeeded in talking a Chinese massage parlour in Tokyo into providing side-by-side couple service, but it took many visits of me alone to establish trust and rapport.

Interesting. What do you call exactly tantric massage? I suspect it doesnt have much to do with actual tantra buddhism , but there must be a link somehow, I suppose

Honestly GHQ can’t be blamed for the anti-prostitution law or anti-obscene material law. Both have more domestic origin.

The anti-prostitution law was brought in at the behest of MacArthur's wife, as she was offended that the young officers were frequenting the widely available establishments of the time.

The Japanese lawyers tasked with drawing up the law wrote the narrowest possible definition of prostitution possible in response, which is why we have the current situation of openly advertised anal sex for cash while vaginas are forbidden territory.

The only thing domestic about it was the lawyers who wrote the actual words.

Some years back I read a Japanese book which claimed that some local Christian men of power were the ones who pointed that out to Mrs Mac as they’d been looking for a way to enact such a ban themselves.

I don't know if all the intracacies of the situation - as seen by people "of a proper background" at the time - can be fully appreciated in this day and age. The moral question of prostitution was about as heavy as the idea of mixing races, not to mention how it was seen that indulging in those practices was one of the first steps towards "going native".

Even when I was here in the 1970's there still was some social stigma against learning to speak Japanese. A few people openly challenged my reasons for doing it.

Yeah, I remember when it was around, maybe 15-20years ago. A lady I was seeing at the time wanted me to take her there, but it closed (not sure if it was forced to close or just went out of business) before we ever got there.

One would have thought those establishments were of the best possible moral and legal standards; they were arranged by the police department of Tokyo after all.
