What's your Background?

I get you, but some people forget that Puerto Rico is part of the USA. Although it isn't a state, but a territory its citizens carry US passports.
Jlo was born in the bronx. She wasnt from the island, and actually statehood and independence and the state of the island is all a hotbutton issue right now .

Maybe some ancestrial stuff (a family member is digging into our background), but in general no. The bulk of my genes is of European decent, mainly Scandinavia. My main point is there is not a single drop of Japanese blood in that background, yet I feel much closer to the people and culture than with other Americans I was born and raised with. A difficult situation for me.

just kidding mate.

East Indian but don't really look it. Maybe similar complexion to many Japanese or so. Almost entirely Caucasoid. Often confused for Greek, Italian, Persian, South American, etc.

American living in none other than.... Boring ass America where just about all forms of sexy time for money are illegal. Well, that and other things.

In my younger years, however, I considered myself to be more a "citizen of the world" because of all the traveling a living in other countries I did.

Central Europe, white, no religions.

So no help regarding Spanish, even though I would probably recognize some of the words that are similar to French, which I studied for some years.

When Japanese ask me I used to reply 火星人 or 世界人 because it was I consider myself most of the time + I am mix blood.
y me encanta ver vídeos así, las diferencias son la riqueza del mundo!

Mixed race American here, grew up speaking Spanish and English but started learning Japanese last year.

It's honestly interesting to see the diverse makeup of the forums here!
I think we've got a little bit of everything on here, which is very cool indeed. Sounds like we may have at least one or two natives as well, judging by the now infamous "girls in Shibuya" post :ROFLMAO:

My background now is cream coloured tile as I am writing this while taking a break in a love hotel bath. But I can confirm there were girls in plural in Shibuya yesterday. I saw at least two confirmed cases walking around in the wild.

Mind boggling, right? I think someday I might go back and maybe even try to talk to them. Or at least take longer gazes. From behind a lamp post.
