What music do you like to listen to?

Man ... My thoughts about EASY RIDER and Peter Fonda yesterday eventually led to that film’s soundtrack.
“The Weight” by The Band, with the late great Levon Helm on lead vocal, remains the film’s most memorable song. It played while PF enjoyed a ride through Monument Valley on the Arizona-Utah border.

Good one indeed! This Beck/Clapton version aint bad either ...

Every Clapton performance since he stopped doing drugs has been totally anemic - Beck almost drags him out of the mire there. Almost.

If you want to hear a white boy cover Elmore James, look no further than Johnny Winter.
Who is also undisputedly the whitest boy to ever cover Elmore James, being an albino and all....

Clapton's done nothing new in 40 years. Fuck him. Beck gets jealous over his bass and drums fuckin each other.

I don’t even care that he hasn’t done anything new, AC/DC basically released the same album over and over again, and every time it sounded fresh and hard and wonderful..

Clapton doesn’t even do his old stuff as well as he used to do it. He completely lost his ability to rock.

I think he's older than me. I hope I can still play at his age

Oh man, I’m glad I’m not the only person who thinks that.
I used to think that too. Now I don’t. The later stuff is just mellower, not anemic. He is older and he is less incendiary and less experimental. It’s inevitable. He seems to be going more for a modern tonal blues thing. At any rate, the thing about Clapton, with the exception of his very early days, is he is, in my opinion anyway, just a bit too similar to, at times, Buddy Guy, and at times, JJ Cale. Whenever I want to listen to that kind of music I go for the originals, JJ or Buddy. Clapton tries to fool everybody by saying his inspiration is Robert Johnson, but the fact is that he is either mimicking JJ or mimicking Buddy. Listen to the three of them in a sitting and you will see it is impossible to disagree.

Good old 80s hard rock... when you like it a bit too much and feel like being Axl in the streets :ROFLMAO:

Whoever invented the concept of idol groups should be placed in a sack and beaten with reeds, then led to the slaughterhouse....
