Ok, so while I was waiting for the bus to take me to a school I work at, I noticed this little girl about 6 or 7 years old just walking around by herself? No parent or guardian with her.

She wasn't just pacing back and forth like she was waiting for someone nor did she look like she was looking for someone either.

I actually walked to a convenient store about 5 min away and noticed her walking all the way to the store and beyond.

I didn't think anything of it until I walked out of the store with my food and she was walking passed me. As soon as we crossed paths, she turned and started walking behind me? She didn't look like she was trying to pickpocket me or anything like that.

Anyway, I went and sat back down at the bench to eat breakfast. While eating, I counted the number of times she walked back and forth (about half the length of a baseball field). She did this 6 times...

As she passed me a couple times, she kept making eye contact with me and even stood kind of nearby the bench, but I just ignored her.

I thought she was either lost or waiting for someone, but then when I was sitting I noticed a koban right out front. I thought maybe this little girl is some kind of bait for possible child molestors or something?

Maybe her parents are just neglecting her? This took place from 9am until a little after 10am...why isn't she in school?

I also noticed a sign/map with a blinking red dot in front of the koban?

Anyway, it was a strange experience that I thought I would share. Has anyone noticed anything like this before?

Not when I was all alone. Of course I did with my parents or an adult.

Japan's pretty safe. There's a reason train stations have station signs spelled out in hiragana- it's so kids that haven't learned kanji yet can read them.

In Japan, it's common for young children to be allowed to walk to school or to the store by themselves. There is an assumption of safety, and that other Japanese will look out for the kids too.

Kids are naturally curious, so for whatever reason, they can be checking you or the area out. Also Tokyo is so urban and compressed, that it doesn't have so many play areas like large courtyards. So a play area, created by kids, can be the street corner near a store.

Just ignore, unless the kid is in obvious trouble. Like crying or clearly confused. And if so, probably best to tell an older Japanese woman nearby to assist. I find the old mama-san type best for such.

Yeah, I don't see what the weirdness is here... I see stuff like this all the time. Most commonly, in the morning, I'll see kids waiting for their friends before getting on the train. Sometimes alone, sometimes in pairs... but they are usually mulling about around the station. I've also got an Elementary, Middle and High School all pretty close together near my place. Tons of kids around of all ages...

For those of you who doubt TJB, I saw the same little girl-really. I whipped out my cell phone and snapped

Once again, reality vs. perception.

TJB, You gotta stop smokin' that stuff-it does strange things with your imagination!!!

MossBoss pranked me and I took him literally. Hope you are happy with the pic now.

The Chinese massage lady pic has been edited. I preferred the original!

Well, it was my first time seeing this kind of thing. I guess it is common in Japan and part of normal life.

TJB,
Hope you understand, just having a bit of fun with you. No maliciousness intended.

That said, your next mission, should you choose to accept it, is to discern, out in space, which is the true alien?

Bear with me, this relates to your experiences in Japan.

Yes, I'm definitely the alien in Japan...but also those wonderful Chinese and Korean women that give me super discount handjobs because they think I'm cute lol.

Good job TJB!!!

You are, indeed, prepared to go on to the next level. Congratulations!!!

So sorry, but Chinese and Korean, beautiful as they may be, are not as intricate as Japanese women. Besides, you are now in Japan, not China nor Korea.

If you wish to have less contentious relationships with Japanese women, your next challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to decide which you value and love more:

Be careful with your decision. It is the choice between peace and conflict during your sojourn in Japan.

If you primarily love yourself, in Japan or anywhere else in this world, you are in for a life of turmoil.

If you love a woman , above all, especially more than yourself, you may find nirvana. (and great sex!!!)

TJB,
You may have heard the phrase, "beauty is only skin deep." It appears that you have much success with ultra-short encounters, (admittedly, on a primal level, I'm a wee bit jealous of that) however, we hear from you, quite often, with relationship issues. I might suggest that, while you are a grown man, your inner child, provokes reactions, externally and internally.

Dance on, live on, and post on!!!

Maybe one day I can start a relationship this way in the future. Check out some Japanese chick, she flips me off. Then I wink at her and ask for her number.

I think you make a great point and with excellent illustration haha!

Thank you for being such a good sport. You are inspiring a rebirth of wit in this forum. Still with the comment above, not so sure you are truly ready for the next level.

Then, again, maybe you are still smokin' that stuff.

A woman flipping you off is not flirting with you, despite your self-described cuteness. In such a case, the best course of action is to unobtrusively fade away and then sober up.

Wait, a woman flipping a guy the bird isn't the universal sign she wants him to come over and give her a G-spot orgasm?
