Im curious what people are going to respond with here.

Personally for me... the best connections ive had with woman in the past almost always slowly fizzle out. This one korean girl i was seeing... we had that hot, passionate, steamy fuck your brains out connection for about 3 years. i remember back then i really appreciated it..i knew what i had was special. However, that did eventually die out. I can keep caring for and wholeheartedly love a woman after the passion settles down to the eventual 'simmer' ...then mundane 'room temp' type of physical connection.. but does that crazy passion ever last forever?
Has anyone here experienced that?
If i found that ..id put a ring on it.. but it seems impossible...
Maybe its just me?
sometimes it lasts 6 months...a year.. or three (in that one case)
Maybe its porns fault? my own?
*sigh*

I think it’s completely normal. It’s difficult to maintain the same amount of passion throughout the whole relationship due to each partner’s work schedule, personal life, etc.

Maybe you can change the routine a bit and try something new? Like having a picnic at the park, hiking, traveling, going to concerts or music festivals, cooking something together, etc.

I don't believe it can last for too long. People change - that's the way it is. Just maintaining a working, hopefully caring, relationship is a challenge. Expecting red-hot passion to last seems like too great an expectation.
Agreed... C’est la vie

Well, what kind of a reply you expect to get from a forum full of perverts? You should find a forum dedicated to people planning their fifty years anniversary and ask there.

Although in all fairness I guess there are happily married pervs couples. But I suppose it’s rare.

I expect that most people approaching their 50th anniversary, should you ask them about their sex life, would probably ask what the word "sex" means.

Another point I would mention. As you get older, providing you stay healthy enough to get and maintain an erection, the quality of sex changes.

I am 60-ish and my main partner is in her 50's. While in bed, after the first or second round, we usually reach a state that I don't remember ever feeling before. I will be in her and just stop moving - and It's like we are both in some different mental state. Floating. Connected as one. Every slight stimulation sends ripples through both of us.

I've had simular experiences when I was younger but not as deep, not as powerful.

Everything dies. Just be happy if you get a tomorrow.

Speak for yourself... not all people here are perverts.

It happens - it could just mean that you weren’t meant to keep that kind of passionate relationship... maybe you were not soulmates.

It’s a sad fact of life. A lot to do with hormones and chemicals in the brain, not very sexy put like this, but I suppose it’s true.

But sometimes the carnal passion can morph into something less fiery and more spiritual in a way. Which doesnt prevent sex either.

Then I am sad for them as they are missing out.

For me it's possible to keep the sparks flying over many years. But that means we should meet just one or maximum two times a month.

Meet someone every week and I'll give the relationship six months max.

yes i mostly agree with this. For me personally, most of the woman in my past that i'd see often .. like 3 or 4 days a week... usually had the passion die out in 6 months. but that one girl lasted 3 years... sex every day for full 3 years before it started to die out... maybe i should have tried harder on that relationship.

this depressed me hahaha that article made it seem inevitable

But in a way, isnt it also positive to get free from the chemicals-induced trance and start to see the other as he/she really is? Surely some couples can get stronger and « healthier » as a result, even if many will fail...

I think it is absolutely possible to keep the passion going after being together for a long period of time. My husband and I have been married for 18 years and we are still going strong and imo our sex life is better now than ever. I feel like we are rare in a sense that we create the space for one another to be fully self expressed without the fear of being judged and we are extremely communicative about our desires in the bedroom. Another thing that helps is we have a teamwork mentality where we respect each other’s boundaries and I personally don’t ever feel pressured to go beyond my comfort zone which I think is extremely important as a woman. I am 40 years old and our sex life might not be as spontaneous or overly exciting off the bat but it is definitely still very passionate and animalistic. Plus it helps that we are open to trying new things sexually as a couple and occasionally invite another girl to join in the fun. As others have mentioned, with age sex can also be very spiritually connecting if that is the intention we bring into the space at that particular time.

Perhaps it didn’t work out for you in your previous relationships because it just simply wasn’t meant to be with those girls. I believe if you are with the right girl, you would find a way to keep the passion going regardless of the duration of the relationship.

Long term relationships have ups and downs. People change, real life responsibilities are on the side and you may feel like things are going downhill. And just about when you surrender to hopelessness you reach a point where the passion comes back to both of you. Or not, and it ends. It makes you feel like drowning, but everything ends. Someday our sun will run out of fuel and we will go extinct if we don't travel to some other planet. Yet we still eat, reproduce and consume like there is no tomorrow.

Describe passion to me. For me it's something that only happens with people I connect on an intellectual and spiritual level. Sex and pleasure is all in your brain. I had amazing multiple orgasms in missionary position with men who don't look like their best version. And honestly real sex is just nasty, there is this formaldehite like smell everywhere, women squirt and quif, hair looks like the worst bad hair day you ever had. It's much different than what you see in porn, which is a highly edited visual and much different from reality. Porn addiction may ruin people's sex lives I agree. If you are addicted to that then you'll be disappointed in real sex..

I think when I feel mentally satisfied by a man being inside of me, feeling him fill all of me with his energy, I would call it passion.

Long term relationships are about more than passion to me.
It is sad when passion burns out, and when people start looking for pleasure in other places, but long term relationships bring other great things like knowing each other through ans through.
