TL;DR We asked our Japanese Nurse mother of 2 what Kimochi meant after watching a JAV.
Okay so this is at least funny to me and my group of friends especially my buddy at the time, we in fact from time to time after a few rounds of alcohol bring this story up for a good laugh.
So here is how the story went, I was in Oki at the time hanging around a group of 20 or so Marines and they were talking about their conquests. Usual locker room talk of this chick this, this chick that, stereotypical when you have nothing to do but drink, workout, go to work and subjected to staying on base because someone either messed up in town or on base.
One Marine told us this grand story of his time in Tokyo and how he was able to get with a AV star. The pick up, the deed, the after, and how he was apparently so good that he got her phone number and continued to talk to her. Everyone there called him on his bullshit as he tend to embellish his stories, saying things like pics or it didn't happen. That is when he pulled out his phone and showed a picture of him and another woman smiling at what appeared to be a bar having drinks. All of us said no way she is a Pornstar. That's when he pulled up a video and showed us one of her videos.
One of the things that me and my friend noticed was the word Kimochi and we had no idea what it meant. We then asked what her name was and it was at that time he could not provide a name and gave him shit for lying about her job profession and lying about the entire story.
The next day me and my friend went to work and I don't know how we got back to the story that happened the night before. Seriously the conversation went from patients, medications, patients, PT, chow, D and D, Round 1, and then to what happened. We tried to figure out what the word meant and tried googling it, at the time we knew NO Japanese and kept misspelling and sounding out the word before finally giving up. At the time we worked with a Japanese Civilian nurse and decided to ask her. Now mind you she was a very welcoming and open mother of 2 who didn't mind answering questions that any of us had about the language or culture she never got offended at anything in fact over the course of working there she picked up on how to cuss which was EXTREMELY hilarious at times. Anyways we approached her and here is how the conversation went.
Us: Ms. Tanaka?
Ms. Tanaka: Yes
Us: We have a embarrassing question to ask you?
Tanaka: Yes?
Us: What does Kimochi mean?
Tanaka: (Turns beat red) Okay, so I am going to assume that you heard it from some video. I am also going to assume that you do not want to know what else it could mean, it means, "It Feels Good"
Us: Ooooh
Tanaka: You were watching porn weren't you
Us: No. Not really.
Tanaka: (Laughs) It's okay, but can you tell me what thot means?
Apparently her son had picked up a American slang line and had no clue what it meant and neither did she. So we told her what it meant.
Yes we had that type of relationship with our nurse, she was AWESOME and we all protected her and loved her. She was the mother of our clinic.
