Anyone know of any in shinjuku where they know the bartenders know at least some English? I'm curious and am still a beginner (can say I know a little Japanese but I'm not skill lol)

I know the typical answer of learn Japanese, just wondering if anyone has any gems I'm out here for and kinda curious

It's a girls bar…. That's pretty standard… 😅
is it a girls bar or a english practice bar? Site seems to only mention it being a place for them to practice their English....which still works for me could probably make some Japanese friends here eh?

They mention on the website that the staff is composed mostly of english speaking girls, so i imagine it works both ways, if you sit at the counter and speak with the staff it would work kind of as a girls bar and language conversation place at the same time (?)

Only one way to find out tho

That's sick alright. 700yen for 10 minutes

I think I'd rather do an 8-class shift at NOVA again than spend five minutes in that fucking bar, and I'd go skydiving without a parachute before I ever worked for NOVA again (and I'd kill everyone you know before I ever hurt myself). Just a quick browsing of that website foretells of douchebaggery of such magnitude that it surely warrants federal immigration bureau intervention.

Sorry, English isn't my mother tongue and this made me laugh.

wait, so you go in an it's 700 yen per 10 minutes, with unlimited drinks? Sounds like a good deal. What is the point of this, just to talk to the female bartenders?
What?! There is only one purpose. To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

This is the way

Apologies for the thread necromancy, but I was asking the same question a week ago and thought my experience might be helpful to other lurkers in the future.

I went to Bar Sara in Kabukicho, where they apparently have many staff with some degree of English. I had a dinner reservation later in the evening so I only stayed for an hour and spoke with two girls. One had limited English but also some Chinese so between the three languages we had a fun time. The second girl had very solid English, she said she'd attended an international school as a kid.

Drinks were stronger than I expected. I understand the core of the business model is that if you stay multiple hours you'll get hammered enough to make poor decisions with respect to the champagne menu.

All in all it was a fun time and I'd recommend it to other tourists like me looking to get a glimpse of what a girls bar even is. It was not remotely sexual, I'd liken it more to sitting down at a bar and striking up a conversation with the stranger next to you, except in exchange for a cover fee the stranger is guaranteed to be easy on the eyes and a good conversationalist.

If you're looking for English speakers at girls bars your best bet is to start checking out Twitter. I've run into a few western girls who work at girls bars in Japan as well as Japanese girls who speak enough English to be fine with foreign customers during their shifts. I've only been a few times, and messaged the girl first to see if it was alright and in each case they were happy to have a foreign customer to speak English with. CyBar was the one I went to in Shinjuku but I think they lost their only English speaking staff member.

I dropped in at SODLand and was pleasantly suprised to find that one of the girls there spoke a bit of english. A little dissapointed she wasn't actually an AV actress (I believe she did some onlyfans or instagram stuff), but she was pleasant to chat with for a little bit. I think they get a decent amount of tourists there so I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to have staff who spoke a little english.
