There may be no shortage of guys, but I think the question is if they can stay "up" to the task with several people watching them try to pleasure a woman.

To be fair it is a hard job.
Compared to things like modelling i think 8000 for two hours is reasonable.

Certainly, I agree. I'd say that I had it relatively easy for a first shoot and can see why people get hooked on working for this industry.
Considering how it's a multi-billion dollar industry, though, I'd like to see all participants get better treatment.

Absolutely! It probably got more difficult with the internet but if you compare how popular some movies got and what the producers earned with what the actors (who are being watched by countless people) got paid for it, that's upsetting.

I'm curious, I have previous experience filming low-budget AV when I lived in NYC, is it relatively easy to find work as a male AV performer if you're a Gaijin? Despite having a little cushion, I don't have an issue with performance or stamina and I'm a good size, 19 cm in length/15 cm by girth (7.5 in by 5.5 in). I wouldn't mind getting back into the industry.

In Japan? No, if you are white. White guys are box office poison there. I can think of maybe one or two videos that aren't targeted to westerners and have white male actors.

That's certainly a possibility- I've seen a few movies where it seemed like the actor looked a little un-Japanese, but you'd only be available for one of the standard themes "AV star visits a fan's home" or "AV star fucks a virgin". Fairly unlikely that you'd get regular work if you are ONLY available for those. Plus, if you don't speak fluent Japanese they probably wouldn't hire you anyway.

Your best chance is if you are black and have industry connections. There is a genre in mainstream JAV for actresses to hook up with black guys holding big cocks. The Japanese want to play up the stereotype of black guys being big and see how girls react to being fucked by them.

White guys are not wanted for the most part. I have seen only 4-5 JAV vids in my lifetime with white actors, and only one of them was with a top ranked AV star (Asami Yuma). Unless you look like Johnny Depp or one of the few Westerners that almost all Japanese women want to fuck, there is little hope of that. I can see someone who fits that description making a splash in JAV one of these days, but it has yet to happen.

The most famous one being the Asami Yuma one, I take it.
