I wouldn’t be too concerned though.
I know of someone who claims she gets a coldsore every year but that she has never passed it on to her husband.
So either its easy to prevent passing it on by avoiding kissing once you break out, or he has never had any symptoms (I don’t think he got tested for it but I don’t know, wouldn’t ask such questions if i’m not sexually involved with them)
