Tarantino

I may have been confused by the description of the film as a love poem and by my understanding of the phrase "working on two levels,."

Two levels meaning besides the basic revenge story, people who know Lady Snowblood in particular and some other Pinky Violence movies will see how much Tarantino loves those movies. I mean FFS, he even used Shura No Hana as the theme song which then kind of led to a restart of Kaji Meiko's singing career.

So do you like it or not?

Kill Bill is ... OK. It had some good bits but it's not my favorite of his works. Uma Thurman seemed to kind of phone in her part but Lucy Liu was great as always. She could probably turn a scene of her sitting on the toilet into something interesting.

Kill Bill was extremely two dimensional, but it was designed that way.

Was the movie great? No. Was it a great homage? Yes.

I found Pulp fiction quite interesting. Cinematography wise, the structure order was interesting as well. All around a great movie. But at the end of it I felt there was something missing. Plot wise, I mean. It was probably just me. I would still give it a 9/10.
