Sexually Transmitted Disease (std) Talk

have a question. which is the fastest and preferably (less expensive) way to test for STD in Tokyo. . No symptoms till now, went for consultation, I went to Yamanote clinic near shibuya. 1 week after my encounter, no bad stuff till now. The Yamanote one is expensive and is not covered by insurance. And, I have a company insurance, will my insurance company know and inform my workplace that I am going for such a treatment or testing?

If the clinic did not take insurance, then your insurance company will have no record in the first place.

Even if you were able to use insurance, your medical details are not revealed to your employer outside of the results of your annual physical.

STD testing is cheap. You don't really need insurance. Treatment for the usual STDs is also cheap (the exception being HIV).

You can go to clinics where they keep the results anonymous. I think the only exception is if you are actually diagnosed with HIV (which is comparatively rare), as there is government rules where that must be reported. Anything else, stays anonymous because treatment will usually cure it.

My experience:

I got tested for STDs various times over the years and basically in two different clinics - one which accepted the national insurance and one which did not. The one which accepted the national health insurance told me that the cost was not covered. In both clinics, I paid around JPY 40-45K every time. Actually I prefer to pay such tests in cash and not have it appear in any kind of insurance statement.

I think the devil is in the detail. I always got tested for "the whole smash" i.e. gonorrhea, syphilis I - II, HIV, hepatitis, chlamydia, etc... I think the whole package can cost a lot. I remember hearing that there are free and confidential HIV only tests performed by the government in some clinics so you may want to search the web a bit for those. Please also note that some of the STDs - like genital warts - may require visual confirmation.

If your company insurance is covering these STDs and you want to pay via insurance, my understanding is that some general information could be shared with the company as the company may need to make an overall cost - benefit analysis and try to get better prices from other insurers in the market. Details of your medical records should not be shared because that is personal information.

For your information, my company insurance has HIV testing only (not other STDs) as an optional item in our annual check-up, but I do not have any intention of using that option and have any records appearing in official documents.

It's cheap for people who routinely engage in P4P, have sugar babies etc, but I wouldn't call 4 man a pop for regular testing to be "cheap".

Doesn't cost much here. Depends on where you are going to get tested. They test syphilis and chlamydia also.

Herpes, warts, or gonorrhea are often very symptomatic. If you have these, it's very likely that you would know without even testing or a doctor would suspect that's the case from a visual inspection or description.

In Raven's case, that looks like he had very extensive testing, therefore high cost.

So question for all after reading through this. The chances of getting infected with something nasty through bbbj is super low? Especially if the people doing it use gargle every time before and after?

Super-low compared to what? There's always a risk involved with genital contact. If the risk isn't worth it to you, bring a condom.

I think the risk of getting non-specific urethritis is quite high. I've had it twice from bbbj from sex workers, but never from 'nice girls'.

Pre BJ rimming increases UTI chances a lot.

Also, Cranberry extract pills are a pretty effective preventative. Not just making that up - there are some pretty decent studies on it.

Low enough that there is a GIANT market for it in Japan. High enough that people freak out all the time. If you have a significant other who wouldn't appreciate being given chlamydia then a condom is probably not a bad idea.

I think (One of) the best advice I ever got was many years ago, from a Med school student. She told me that you should pee right after any uncovered sexual act. Apparently bacterias can find their way through the urinary canal and reach the bladder. If you pee right after, you have a good chance to get rid of those bacterias. Apparently works with men and women.
I have followed this advice for decades and been quite safe....

BBBJ: how worried should i be about this?

@danthrope: I moved this here. It doesn't need to be a separate thread. Thanks.

sorry,, i thought i posted my own thread - i was enquiring about bbbj

You did post your own thread. There doesn't need to be a separate thread on risks of BBBJ when there's a whole thread already on this here.

Very very little...minimal risk. You very likely take MUCH greater risks with your health and life everyday without a second thought. Lots of information and misinformation is already available in this thread.

Oh my god that took me while to read all those 9 pages of stds and statistics.
Interesting information, some of which I find agreeable.
Tbh, my first xp with bbbj in ol-style caught me by surprise. Was thinking : aren't they scared of stds?
Minimal risk or not, herpes ain't fun.

Also, yea totally agree that hiv shouldn't be on anyone's worry list seeing that there are other stds with lower infective dose (hep other than A is life as well) Still something to consider though.
I thought it was due to mucosal tissue tearing or open cuts and bleeding which lead to blood borne std transmissions. Again infective dose to think about, risk is minimal if you think about fluids with low viral concentrations but putting your cut penis in a women with perhaps a tear in vaginal wall or bleeding gums may still expose you to risk.
All that being said, I'm actually more inclined to bb, simply coz my penis isn't very sensitive to sexual stimuli unless it's a abit rough.

P.s to the guy who was wondering about painless bleeding after bj : seen that before in a colleague - usually seen in rough sex. Query penile or urethral trauma. If it resolves in a few days and doesn't get worse or painful, you should be ok - otherwise go see a doc plz

After catching a UTI from a pink salon BBBJ, I make sure to down lots of water and start play 'half loaded', so after leaving the joint I can immediately take a strong piss, as well as wiping down the junk with an antiseptic hand wipe in the train station restroom.

Hadn't had any problems since following this simple procedure, but be careful with the hand wipe if it's your first time- make sure you aren't allergic to it before trying it out.

I used to always buy 99% Ethanol. Dilute it down to about 80% volume by water and spray it directly on my shit. It's painful and you should be near cold water to immediately rinse since it starts to burn after 10 seconds. Too much/exposure use will cause temporary skin conditions (drying/redness).

This is getting way off topic. I can either move your conversation to another thread or you can create a new one or you can get back on topic, your choice.

Honestly I am more interested in a conversation about why poolpee-ers like Ww feel the need to defend themselves. Low risk, remember blow jobs, vaginas mouth hey same diff, low risk, feels good, very very low risk! What's that equation? No, I totally understand probability.

I wonder if we start telling them their dicks will turn blue they'll stop.

haha
