Follow the bouncing strawman. My emphasis...
Nobody ever said 'sore throat = STD'.
I mean, even if you aren't in the hobby, if you are sick you shouldn't go to work. This is especially true where there's skin-to-skin or bodily contact. Hell, I don't want to see a provider with a sore throat because she could give me a bad cold, or strep throat, even before getting to the more dangerous nasties.
Don't hobby or provide when sick, folks.
It's not a strawman, on my part, if that's the point. There seems to be some confusion on what a strawman is or in the interpretation of what was quoted.
I'm not refuting the possibility of what Sudsy or Durg50 are saying, but simply emphasizing it's not the only reason possible.
"Probably", "can be", and "possibly" are similar in meaning and connotation. Particularly in how the 3 quoted people used it.
Furthermore, "shouldn't always" is aligned with the concept of "not always" and "possibly", "perhabs", "maybe" or "could be". There is a level of doubt, chance, or probability involved.
Clearly, any person of reason and logic should know that 'sore throat' does not = STD. It's not a strawman to point out that indeed we should be aware of such. Nowhere did I say do something risky like have unprotected sex with prostitutes.
And sex with a girlfriend that a man has known a while, sees frequently, or lives with is different. That is a situation where a man can take more risk, because of the nature of the relationship and level of trust.
Don't hobby or provide when sick, folks.
This sounds like a command. Like telling people what they must or must not do. A command that many people can't hear nor will pay any attention to.
Many prostitutes have and will work while sick, because they need money. How sick that they are can be indeterminable. The customer can have no idea whatsoever or assume it's something minor to not be worried about.
So sex, while the prostitute is sick to some degree, is likely to happen. It's arguably best for the customer to be wary and choose protected condom sex or avoid certain types of sex.
